But in all seriousness, I also did start my comment by clearing up that I watched 30 episodes in a few hours so obviously I didn’t really watch the whole thing so my opinion isn't the most valid lol

I was truly intrigued in the beginning because the whole knife thing they had going on was very kink coded and I was expecting a passionate main couple, only for them to be very boring and tame...
Personally, I hate being misled with kinky tension for minimum payoff, but of well, it's a cdrama.
The rest is painful to even watch ngl. Did the writers have a stroke or did they just put stuff on a random generator and decided to do every plotline at least twice? Like there are only so many times that I wanna see a character have amnesia or almost die and then be miraculously saved. The sister drives me crazy, I get she is young but oh god how dumb can you possibly be? One thing to marry someone who doesn't love you, but another to go to this kingdom with 0 knowledge and leave your entire family when NO ONE asked you to do that??
I'm surprised how positive the ratings are, so far this drama is really not that good. Sure the leads are attractive, but the chemistry is nothing to write home about. Fl being a badass truly did make me want to watch this in the first place but even that loses its charm pretty fast. It's not like there hasn't been a lot of other better dramas where the fl is a fighter. IMO I wouldn't invest 30+ hours of your life on this.

that was even more painful than I was expecting

I was hooked in the beginning, but very soon started skipping like 80%
imo this was a bit boring and a little too unrealistic to my taste. It feels like half of the plotlines weren't explored to their full potential because I truly forgot at some point why the fl even hated her parents. I understand that she was neglected, but I find it hard to believe that she went no contact to the point of changing her name, and the parents still got a redemption arc.... Also the Haochen parent plotline and the sister's ex.
And imo the fl bounced back way too fast after resigning. It felt like she struggled for two seconds and suddenly she had a majorly successful business.

I didn't know anything about this drama before watching so I think I should have lowered my standards in advance

Was hoping to spend a good time with this drama while being sick but the first episode was boring. I'm not sure if I'm just not getting the vibe but I think they're trying to be funny, but not a single scene was funny so far.

My biggest issue with this is the lack of budget. This could actually be incredible if they had the runtime to flesh out the world and the lore behind vampires.
If I ignore the obvious shortcomings, I'd say that this is very enjoyable. Both leads are insanely goodlooking and the chemistry is there for sure.

lmao I kinda vibe with them not bothering to explain the fantasy part at all. Like honestly, if you're gonna leave it a plothole, be cheeky about it because it totally worked here. Cute and entertaining from start to finish. 9/10

upgraded the cinematography to deliver one of the horniest nc scenes ever and I respect them for that ngl, like that was enjoyable to watch. This whole series was like soft p*rn without plot but damn this was the biggest guilty pleasure of this year

The chemistry was unmatched. Like one of the best pairs I've ever seen, but unfortunately the plot was not that engaging. Like I would rate this 10/10 if it were just for the main couple, but the plot was more like a 6/10. I feel like nothing much happened, I guess that can also be good if you want a really nice drama just to relax and shut your brain off.

Hmm interesting. I had no idea there was a book, but I guess the plot might be easier to follow with some background knowledge.
I don't hate gender bender stories, so I might stick around to see if the romance is any good.

Why are the ratings so high? (I'm open for discussion if anyone wants to convince me that this is good)
I'm on episode 5 and considering dropping this because the plot is so ridiculous. I can kinda overlook how unbelievable she is as a man but I can't overlook the ml being so blind that he couldn't figure out that the person behind the mask in the meeting wasn't her. Like they went to school together or whatever, and he still couldn't tell that the masked man had a different voice and physique?
Idk man, this just doesn't feel like a drama worth watching so har.

The combination of poor mental state and getting way too attached to this drama is so great :'D But hey this was the best thing that's happened to me in 2025!
