I wanna love this but this could be so much better with a better script and director. The sets are stunning for sure but the rest... leaves much to desire. So much time wasted on incredibly drawn out scenes that aren't even that good at character building.

Btw can anyone with Netflix subscription check if the subtitles on kisskh are the cc or normal english subtitles? The subtitles on kisskh were pretty bad.

Ah well yeah that's not surprising. I loved City of Bones as a kid so I guess this stuff doesn't face me much 😅
Especially when they did reveal his identity to the viewers pretty early

These comments seem surprisingly negative.
I thought this was captivating and I couldn't stop watching despite being very confused over some side characters at times. The snow man was a weird part of the plot though, I thought this was suddenly fantasy but nope. I guess not.
Melodrama mixed with psychological horror ... imo this was traumatizing :'D

I mean it's also the directors job to guide the actors. Maybe he was instructed to just look happy in a royal way XD
(Or maybe he actually can't act)

I agree with you on the other hand I understood what kind of performance Zee is trying to make stoic the one people…
I don't really have any issues while he is talking, but rather when he is moving around. His movements just don't look trained to my eye. I've watched too many historical dramas and it's just hard to ignore the lack of poise.

I guess we can agree to disagree.

Title The Next Prince Spoiler
A long comment about the first 3 episodes:
I don't know if this drama is just visually too impressive and I'm expecting too much, but Zee's acting bothers me here a bit. I didn't mind either of them in Cutiepie, but this drama is on another level. Charan is supposed to be believable as a poised royal guard, but imo Zee's acting is lacking. Nunew has visibly improved, and the crying scenes were quite good, but Zee is just too stiff in fights while not being rigid enough, while in a standing position.
The pacing is also weird to me. They are using so much screentime on scenes like Khanin wanting to bow to all the staff (necessary to show his character, but the scenes were absurdly long). They are also trying comedy in scenes where it just isn't funny. Like why would Khanin think that the servant isn't a servant?
And Khanin just doesn't ask enough questions?? I don't know if I blacked out during the first 2 episodes but I don't think they explained to him that his bio dad did not know he was still alive. I feel like I'd want to know every reason why I grew up without my bio family. It also seemed very weird that they'd just immediately put Khanin in the spotlight without letting him see his dad first. I guess that made a nice compact scene, but they are really establishing no relationship with his bio dad rn. And I'm not sure if it's because they won't have that much screentime together or what, but it does feel like a huge oversight. Unless the dad is evil, I would have thought that he would immediately want to see Khanin when he arrived.
I'm also a little disappointed by how their romance is progressing. Charan is literally the only one Khanin knows before his time at the palace, so the relationship feels very idk... sad and too convenient? Because falling for someone in this situation would be kinda a coping method. Khanin was traumatized and Charan was there for him and got him to safety, I'd fall for a guy in that situation too. I guess I was hoping for something a bit more romantic, destiny and accidents bringing you close, and a forbidden love type of moment. Rather than Khanin just outright ordering Charan to be by his side. Meh ...
I'm not losing hope and waiting to see what happens next.

Unfortunately, I felt a little bored during ep 11. The first half really dragged along while the second half was sweet but a little anticlimactic.
Other than that, I'd say this was significantly better than the anime. And I do mean by a mile.
Smartboom's chemistry alone carried this drama to a high rating, but the cinematography was also incredibly pleasing. I'd say the only thing that could be better is the script. It needed a little more work, but oh boy regardless, this was a very memorable thai bl.

I'm really not a huge fan of domestic abuse... even when it's due to a misunderstanding and anger management issues. The ml is growing on me but I hope there is no other physical altercation between them. I'm fine with both characters being a little morally grey/ having shifty plans, it's making this very interesting, but regardless, there is a line there between enemies-to-lovers romance and a messed-up, sick dynamic.

I came here knowing nothing and not being a fan of either of the main actors but DAMN I'm eating this up. Like I would binge the entire thing in one sitting if I could.

Cliche as hell but the end of ep 2 is truly making me stay seated. This might be pretty good.

its fine i guess? The whole drama gives low budget weekend drama.Which would be fine if it wasnt tvN production…
What you are thinking is severe addiction and it's results but all addictions have levels.
You can definitely have issues with alcohol and still function relatively well in society. Getting drunk to handle issues is normalized but it doesn't mean that it is normal. The first episode shows her drinking her emotions as well as drinking casually on a random day.

I honestly would have preferred her just being so addicted that she left her fiancé. At least that would have made this original, and also made her addiction a little more of a serious problem. Now this is just giving Love Next Door with alcoholism.

What's up with recent kbls having nothing going on for them except miscommunication and misunderstandings? No plot or charm whatsoever. Min Jun was the ml but his acting was so one-dimensional, I was getting fed up. He looked pissed off in every single scene, even the ones where he was supposed to look sad or conflicted.
This was an utter disappointment and boring as hell.
