Mrs. Wang is the best mom in c-dramas I have ever watched. Her wisdom really makes me happy for Gu Yi and Da Wen. She is so full of good advice to listen to for youthful love. She is so funny too. Her acting is super as a mom.
The thing that I don’t get is why she expects so much from him, like he was a regular person when he’s got…
Agree. It takes time, and she is rushing him to reciprocate his feelings and express it verbally. I can even see how he loves her thru his actions not by saying it (words like - I love you). I know she wants that normal way, but for an illness he has, he is different human. He needs to heal first. Time and separation perhaps?
Beautiful love story & loved the ending. Apologies and forgiveness will overcome regrets in love that are rivers flowing in your heart. A perfect 10 for me in rating this drama excellent production and cinematography, all actors and congratulations for all the film makers involved well done!
Well the show matched the title this entire drama really was A Beautiful Lie
totally agree with you on this, just finished watching the last ep and it's almost similar ending with 'The Forbidden Flower'. Is it real or just her imagination? I would like it to be real for a happy ending, but it's a beautiful lie.
thank you for your review and recommendation, very heartfelt love story. I liked it. All about loving and living. Realistically, love to live and live to love at the end.
Such a sad story and I even liked the ending. Reality is, in my opinion not all dramas should have happy endings! Jing He and Mei Lin characters are so loved. Total admiration for both actors LXY and WJY, superb acting with their facial expressions at the end got me in tears. My next drama after this is Qing Luo 2021 to see LXY again in a light romance, he's easy on the eyes.
i was surprised too with many hate comments.. why dont people just watch and enjoy the show? i think the drama…
I agree, not all dramas should have happy ending as long as the writer is in control of the story, be it fiction or not, good or bad. If the audience PREFER to watch it because it's intriguing that is their CHOICE. I will continue on the next episode.
Nancy, I agree, it's always same cliches in most dramas with a villainess possessive with the male leads. The female lawyer is very looney crazy with lowest self-esteem character and another villainess in the first half, she's the annoying just devious scheming brat in the production team. I liked the female lead with her happy ending.
I first saw him in Love at Night and think that is a very underappreciated drama. He was so sexy in that. I also…
His sexiness here just hit me in ep 5, the way his bedroom sounding voice is so sexy. His voice is like Matthew McConaughey's. I agree, in 'Love at Night' his character was a musician, playing guitar & singing/ investor. The OST's are in my playlist. Hope Ihe will make another modern drama.
I liked Wu Jin Yan in 'The Doble' and 'My Bargain Queen'. I liked Liu Xue Yi in 'Love at Night' and 'In Blossom'. Huang Ri Yin in 'I May Love You" was excellent too. I'm quite positive that this will be another favorite drama for me. It's intriguing!
I have seen 3 of Romance short series in this list: Fortune Writer, Undercover Affair and The Soulmate. Thank you for this, now I can watch more. I prefer short dramas.
Ok I m on ep5 can someone tell me why smoking opium was such a big deal? Does it has something to do with republican…
@Hairlossmaxing , I found this data in Wikipedia: According to Jonathan Marshall, Chongqing also regard opium as a key commodity in the smuggling from KMT controlled zone including Sichuan and Yunnan to Japanese occupied zone for compensating urgent government expeditions and military costing during protracted war era. To raise necessary revenue, Chongqing also permitted Shanghai Green Gang leader Du Yuesheng possessing many connections with Japanese controlled territory to manage opium smuggling business. Du's operation was under general Taili who took charge of anti-smuggling bureau's supervision. The Mao Zedong government is generally credited with eradicating both consumption and production of opium during the 1950s using unrestrained repression and social reform. Ten million addicts were forced into compulsory treatment, dealers were executed, and opium-producing regions were planted with new crops. Remaining opium production shifted south of the Chinese border into the Golden Triangle region. The remnant opium trade primarily served Southeast Asia, but spread to American soldiers during the Vietnam War, with 20 percent of soldiers regarding themselves as addicted during the peak of the epidemic in 1971. In 2003, China was estimated to have four million regular drug users and one million registered drug addicts.
