same! I just like to watch the ended dramas cause I know, I don't have to wait a week for the next episode.
Well that's a valid ending too XD it's not about really wanting her to end up with one over the other, it's just that in harem dramas like this I like to know the ending before watching it >.< To adjust my expectations while watching lol and not root for the wrong one and then be heartbroken 😂
I watched Love 020 a long time ago, it was actually my first try at a Cdrama, but I ended up dropping it cause I didn't get the hype... I thought I would love the romance but I kinda hated it...XD
I agree with u on Yang Yang's character... He came across as cocky and conceited to me and I hate the kind of ML who already likes the FL and knows it's reciprocated but feels like it's necessary to play mind games to, idk, make it more fun for him?... It's not "teasing" to me, it's selfish and humiliation to make the FL feel inferior.... Idk but that's a pet peeve of mine.
And the FL was wooden and a Mary Sue... You could've told me she's a robot and I would've believed it.
And overall everything was so insta-lovey on both sides that I found it so boring...
I heard so many good things about You Are My Glory that I thought this article would be about how good YAMG was compared to the overrated Love 020... But I guess not XD Before I thought I might check it out but now I'm not so eager anymore... I had no idea it was the same author or anything... That's a shame
I feel the same way as you. The FL could have a bit more agency or movement. She is kinda boring now and just…
Yes! I quite like Moo Hak, he's the reason I keep watching and enjoying. I think none of the other characters bring anything new to the table, even the ones I like, like her cop friend.
I would agree with almost all of that except that Chak Hee is not a villain. She is either played for laughs or…
Oh!! by the young curator I meant the one working for Dali's gallery, Gong Ju. But anyway when I wrote the villain thing I was mostly referring to the other two I mentioned. As for Chak Hee, I'm pretty indifferent towards her character, I don't like her or dislike her.
1. The dynamic between the two main characters is lovely, especially in the first episodes, it feels somewhat different from other dramas, although the plot development is not. 2. Many plotlines, like the corrupt assemblyman, I find kind of boring. 3. Many of the side characters are too annoying. Moo Hak's half brother, Dali's cousin, the young curator girl...they're villains in the story so it's expected that they're unlikeable, but they are in the "I wanna fast forward their scenes" sense, instead of the "I love to hate them" one... 4. Dali felt like a breath of fresh air in the first episode, but once the plot moves to Seoul she became a little stale, she started to feel like a very unoriginal FL. There's some beams of light here and there, but most of the time she comes across as stubborn, dense and just plain dumb.
Even though most of my comments seem to be negative I'm enjoying the show overall... I'm watching it mainly for the romance, and so far it's a little slow moving but entertaining enough. I just think the show had great potential to be something more than it is.
This article was really original, I like the topic of analyzing writing styles since screen writers are arguably the most important part of a show. I have a very short attention span and tend to skim over articles, especially if they talk about stuff I'm not into that much. But even though I don't watch much Thai and Japanese dramas I still found it very entertaining to read.
Btw, congrats on your first article!!
PS: I fully agree with most of your thoughts on glorified cheating and forced sad endings.
I've just seen him in Once Again and in Youth of May and both times he's been very enjoyable to watch so I'm glad he gets more roles, though I hope sometime soon he gets a more relevant role as a main or maybe co-main lead >.<
I actually thought he did have the looks of a "top star" lol compared to some other dramas where top stars are…
Yeah he's very good-looking and all but Kpop fame relies heavily on the idol's persona, how they sell themselves, and seeing how stuck up and flavor-less Ryok persona is... idk I find it hard to believe he's one of the most famous idols or why would anybody like him lol
His idol persona in the show I mean, of course, no Ryok's real kinda dorkish personality, and of course not Jun xD Jun is good
