I would certainly be watching this drama, even if the ml looked like Sherk and Quasimodo if he is able to deliver/ emote. I have watched many shows where the ml is not handsome but he portrayed the role so beautifully that you cannot help but fall in love with him.

I was watching this drama, and at the same time, I was rewatching my favorite episodes from “The Rebel Princess.” Maybe I shouldn’t have done that because the ml completely pales in his role as a “feared general” in comparison to the ml (xiao qi) in in The Rebel Princess, who looked 110% the part and has extremely commanding aura. While I liked this show and will rate it highly, it lacks realism, but it was entertaining and gave us face cards left and right.

While they had amazing chemistry and gave us some fire scenes, their story is nothing to be romanticized, although their toxic story was captivating, we all know how it would end, because at the end of the day, dude was a madman. I don’t mind him playing red flag roles at all. More red flags roles please! I wished he starred in better dramas though, because that short drama “Broken the Heart” was not it! His other short drama “The maid” was better. I hope he will get better roles in the future
