In the novel, Tho and Jimmy take a year to reconcile. This duration is crucial as it gives weight to their separation,…
2 questions: is the novel worth the read (like I love Not Me the series but the novel should have been burned)? Is there more TehFah in the novel (we hardly get anything here)?
Yes, Teh is young, inexperienced and knows Toh best. He knows Jimmy as well and - as you mentioned - this series did not give us enough time to make Jimmy's change of heart believable, IMO. Back to Teh - in Fah place I would seriously re-evaluated if I wanted to be with somebody who seems to be ok with such behaviour. You know - birds of a feather... No wonder Fah scolded him ๐คญ So far my favourite is Fah - he is smart, decisive, has moral clarity (he should have been upfront about once-and-done but I could believe that he thought that Teh knew the rules), is all in all a good friend (like when he immediately came with proof about Jimmy - which is in contrast to Toh who knew about the deal but said nothing to Fah) and wants the best for his friends. Not to mention how cozy he looked in that fuzzy yellow seater ๐ฅฐ
I agree. Teh is a player too, though less shameless than Jimmy. He also seems to know himself well enough to be…
EP07 "Sathu! Make his liver the only thing that gets hard." ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ Fah has sharp tongue (he could have gone harsher IMO) - you better behave, Teh ๐คญ The guys are leveling up the MVPing ๐ (I am adding the super chill kitty to list of MVPs) I was honestly surprised by the block - wasn't sure he had it in him to do it. Isn't this the same cafe that was in The Eclipse? ๐ค (I also saw Jimmy's house in several series - I think it was in Heart Killer's and Dare you to Death). Schadenfreude ๐๐๐๐๐

EP06 Run - love the bag, hate the low expectations. The bar must be in hell when "at least you never laid a hand on me" is considered acceptable from romantic partner. How many times can he come uninvited? (I know a person who instead of coming to for example B-day party - come to celebrate said B-day a few days earlier/later and sometimes give same day notice ๐ก, so it's especially annoying to me). Calling him doormat is offensive to doormats. Honestly - is there any possible redemption arc for Jimmy? After all that I wouldn't be able to trust him and being paranoid and/or controlling is not a good recepie for a partner/relationship. Then again the resolution of the birthday was, in a twisted kind of way, an interesting step in redemption (it looks like the 1st selfless act Jimmy did because Toh would have never did on his own ๐ฎโ๐จ). On the bright side: Teh and Fah. Simply MVPs of this series. The lack of communication due to bet aside, they are really a good couple and I wish for them to get more screen time (why are they listed as mains, when they basically get support character treatment?) - no drama/NC, just them being a couple (they could just chill and I would be happy).
I agree. Teh is a player too, though less shameless than Jimmy. He also seems to know himself well enough to be…
True. The deal however did not require him not telling anybody about it. This is what especially frustrated me with him in EP05 - Fah was using all the tricks and he still would not confess. On the other hand Fah (he is so mature about the whole thing ๐ฅฐ - Toh should take notes) got a lot of brownie points this EP: he actually came to Toh (with truth backed by proof!) and tried to help him. Some people cannot be helped, I fear ๐ฎโ๐จ (their tactic is actually what seems to work with DV victims - they need to know that they have support system when the situation finally gets too much for them, so that they feel like leaving is an option). I've seen for some EPs already that Jimmy has genuine feelings but is too much of a player and focused on getting his target to actually dissect them and come to terms with it (I admit I re-played 1st scen of EP01 several times with a lot of Schadenfreude ๐). He was right about his home (at 1st) - I would have been creeped out ๐ฌ Honestly I think I feel sorry the most for Teh at the moment - seeing person you love in pain + feeling powerless must be a torture (Toh lost not only pity points but self-respect as well ๐ฎโ๐จ).
I am "marathoning" and finished EP04. Tell me how: Toh heard phone call between Jimmy and Teh but Fah hasn't?! Now on to the main point: Jimmy love bombing and Toh being delusional. If not for what Toh knows I would have felt really bad for him but from the moment he decided that it's ok, I lost some of the sympathy. Another thing is how Toh hasn't told Fai about the deal - if that doesn't change, then my opinion of him would plummet (in all honesty Teh could have told about it to both Toh and Fah as well but he is not exactly portrayed as a green flag - considering how he is fine with Jimmy's behaviour as long as it doesn't concern his brother - and by Toh's reaction he would have known what is going on but he is definitely the conflict avoiding type ๐).
I've been binging this series and I have mixed feelings. On one hand the whole story is not super riveting, intrigue…
I finally caught up and still don't get ๐ (I get the plot and it's twist but it's still not emotionally connecting... perhaps due to main CP). Now I have Mark to look forward to in the next EP, so I will definitely not miss it ๐
I've been binging this series and I have mixed feelings. On one hand the whole story is not super riveting, intrigue is so-so but I find myself at the end of EP and wondering how did it went so fast. The love story is also a bit usual, as normally you can more or less track the relationship but here we got from 0 to 100 in few minutes. There is no comedic relief, no "feels", no actual drama - it feels kind of flat (comparing it to Fourever You 2 or any FirstKhao series etc. it just doesn't make me even feel sad when someone is crying), so why am I watching it (I started it for Junior, I am not gonna lie)? Boun is also not helping. I think if I watched it week-by-week, I would have dropped it/forgot about it already. IDK. I just started EP07, so perhaps I will get more clarity after watching it and EP08.
It was good (and I am not a fan of horrors). I added opening son to my playlist (and I will admit that I was listening to it on repeat ๐คญ). I was let down by the final showdown to be honest as it felt rushed. Some of the "highlights": Calling for backup โ No location from smart watch but earpiece not only did not fall off or was found but also had the range โ Leaving a noose โ Garroting for minnutes without any impact on the victim โ Strangling unsub for more than 10s to make him unconscious โ Getting barely hung and loosing consciousness for hours (perhaps days) โ Checking for brain activity before deciding on palliative care โ Getting stabbed and being fully functional on the next day โ No resolution to King's dad story line โ Out of nowhere being successful with chants (Thup) โ Ghost getting "destroyed" โ
Yes, EP02 is a tearjerker (EP04 also has some elements). EP05 on the other hand ๐คญ
I am in progress of reading it - so far at least he figured out that he likes Dao. I know that he is going to have stiff competition against Dad's beloved ๐คญ
Yes, EP02 is a tearjerker (EP04 also has some elements). EP05 on the other hand ๐คญ
I think part of it is time limit (the novel is quite long, so they cut and rearranged order of things), and to keep Fah as a clear green flag (the revenge was morally more of a gray area) but perhaps in last EP they mention something happening to him in prison (Tiger has contacts, right?)? Onsen scene was also shortened but for me "the feels" are more important than NC, so I am not complaining. What I hope for (but almost impossible that they are going to shown it) is "the children talk". It's hilarious on the outside but it shows how deep the childhood affected Phoon and his priorities. Just less than 2 days to finding out how they end it ๐

At least we got 2 EPs today! Have you seen the latest ones? So far all even made me cry at least a bit (and just from preview EP08 is going to squeeze some tears as well). They did such a good job with this series ๐ฅฐ
They started from Eclipse with "not mother" and then decided to escalate, so at this point it becomes like (generally in GMM) sponge bath, JJ/AJ, guitar, etc - mandatory in FK series...
that has to be the most stupid decision Singha ever made. leaving Thup alone in the car. forget the dad, what…
I agree to most of that but remember that the unsub was a police officer, so he has a bit of know how. On the other hand there were plenty of illogical/not procedural actions so far... I think the one I remember the most vividly was when they went to victim's house and his sister allowed them to check the mail. Forget that they found the doll almost immediately but when they unpacked and saw what was inside nobody thought about gloves and they simply smashed it right there and then ๐คฆโโ๏ธ

I so cannot wait ๐ I thought that since 5 EPs were out I could "safely" binge but I was wrong - the amount I re-watched EP05 (truthfully from ending of EP04) starts to be unhealthy ๐
True but Mr. CEO is supposed to be cold and haughty, which the actor is portraying well. O feel like Mr. Photographer should have more of a magnetic charm in order to tempt and keep CEO interested.
I get the appeal of the 2nd couple but Mr. Photographer is not doing it for me. Shouldn't he be like super charming? For me he gets douchebag vibe. IDK he is just not clicking as that desirable ๐คทโโ๏ธ
From the novel (although they do not follow it super closely because Thee was never this goofy/over the top following…
It can be purchased on for example Meb (I think they have biggest selection of BL novels translated to English).
I am not against creative liberties (I read that writer rights are really strong in TH, so definitely writers permission had to happen) and I know that some thins do not "translate" to screen well but they did change Thee's personality a lot (same with Dr Bun in Manner of Death), so I pointed it out. What I mind is when they for example "gaywashed" series. On the other hand Not me was like totally different from the novel and thank BL god's for that as that "work of art" belongs in "circular file cabinet" (๐๏ธ). I am serious - it is disgusting and has no political/social commentary + brain cells decrease after that is guaranteed.
i just realized with WilliamEst side story that... we never got any updates with Tawan and Aran... yet they are…
From the novel (although they do not follow it super closely because Thee was never this goofy/over the top following the soap operas "advice", nor buying and gifting stuff as crazy expensive and random; there was no "not allowe to love" storyline - their parents were totally ok with their choices and Mhok even confessed to the whole family his love for Rome when they were still in highschool*): the concept of the photoshoot was that Aran was Autumn, then he and Tawan continued "storyline" in Winter (Photoshoot done by in-house photographer), then I think Tawan was supposed to do single Spring and together Summer; Tawan got crazy jealous during photoshoot and attacked Peach; this wasn't so surprising because Tawan came from rich family and they kind of launched him + cleaned his mess; this time however Peach lost conciseness, was sent to the hospital and Thee got angry, so he: broke Tawan's hand (not sure if personally), cancelled the contract (this meant new photoshoot for that collection, so Peach did it); blacklisted him + his family, sued them ("to pay Peach's medical expenses"). So he basically destroyed him (but since it's PerthSanta and GMM I doubt we are going to get that resolution).
More about the fallout: This was used as plot device, to make Peach trust Thee, to believe that he finally is not alone and has somebody on his side/to lean on no matter what. This lead to Peach taking Thee to the orphanage (it was the 1st mention of it for the readers), where she introduced Thee to the siblings (the boy's character was very similar to novel's Thee), Peach told him that his wish is to adopt children (especially those that had lower chances of being adopted, like him and his sister had), so Thee got all worried because "what if their children won't like him?" ๐คฃ
*let me tell you (this is all from Rome and Mhok's separate novel) that they really only kissed once when they were in HS, then Mhok (who got great grades; his goal was to skip classes to be in the same year as Thee, so that they could study together) said that he wants to follow Thee to see the world and learn to be worthy of [being with] Rome. So he left for USA with Thee, they would sometimes meet with Rome during holidays/school breaks (not sure if Rome kept the promise that he would call him every day) but they had like 2-3 year period before start of Thee's love life where they haven't met in person at all. So when Rome finally came (about 7 years after the kiss), Mhok was happy but also self-conscious about his body (he was no longer the skinny, kind of petite, Asian boy - he got a bit more buff) - Rome was totally down bad regardless of Mhok's look (Rome basically dragged him from the airport to the apartment and only took his carry-on with... that was mostly carrying boxes(!) of condoms, lube and finger gloves) and that night "Mhok took his virginity", as Rome later phrased (to be clear Rome seemed to have GFs before meeting Mhok but not sure how far that went as he claimed that Mhok took his 1st kiss as well but apparently since meeting Mhok there hasn't been anybody he would be interested). For me Rome's character in the novel is closer to the Thee in the series (also not as outrageous) than Thee from the novel.
I hope this isn't gonna be censored. Plz be it like ABO Desire or Revenged Love!!
I read that screenwriter is Chai Jidan (she wrote Addicted/Stay with Me and Counterattack/Revenged Love - both novels and screenplays), so she most likely is going to do it more spicy (perhaps again with co-production with another country to bypass the censorship ๐ค). Fingers crossed!
