There’s a lot of Mandarin in this series, and honestly, more than necessary. And considering the context of…
Isn't the hakka they speak during the rituals Southern language??? And I think they went with mandarin during dialogues because that's what everyone can actually speak without totally botching it
Im absolutely in love with this show. The acting is top tier, the story is amazing and this is the best looking…
Props to p waa and parbdee team tbh, it's all their vision, hard work, great attention to details that are making the series of such quality, on twitter people are pointing out all the little details regarding the whole lore and Chinese mythology that we might not catch too
Can anyone who speaks Chinese tell me if their Chinese and pronunciation are good? I'm just wondering!
From people on twitter, everyone says the cast are doing very well with almost no accent, but dr palang is the best and it's understandable bc he is bilingual
It wasn't supposed to be 10 episodes? if they cut one, we'll get a rushed ending
People who read the novel said it can be wrapped up in 8-9 episodes, but personally I think p waa could have shown more details/inner monologue from the novel, had more flashbacks to develop the plot more gradually etc if he was given longer air time but I think gmmtv is already taking a risk with the genre and they probably didn't want to allocate more budget than whatever was already given to Wu but I think there's always a possibility for season 2 just like the gifted, enigma
I really appreciate the music score in this series 🥹 it fits every scene so well, gives the scenes more depth, the ost is amazing too even I was skeptical of Jimmy singing but he did a really decent job🥹 and I really appreciate the lack of beautifying filters in the shots, you can see their real skin color, texture and every blemish, gesture looking so real / imperfect 🥹 that always bugged me in dmd series bc they make the boys always have pinky blushing pale unblemished skin which made them look too perfect , even the hair which is always neatly brushed
