I understand what you mean, and I agree that Veir ultimately chose to stay later on. My issue is with what happened before that. The moment you drug someone, take them somewhere against their will, tie them up and intend to keep them there, you've already taken away their choice. Whether they later manage to leave or eventually decide to stay doesn't change that initial act for me. That's simply where my personal line is.

My other issue is how the series frames Kelvin's behaviour through mental illness.
I don't mind stories about mentally ill characters, but I do mind when abuse is presented as something that's primarily explained by a diagnosis and then treated as something that can simply be resolved. That's the part that didn't work for me.
