I’m really confused about the entire marital property part. I even went and looked up the Chinese civil code and as I expected, only property acquired during the marriage counts as marital property. She was president of the company before she married him and anyway it’s her parent’s company so clearly it’s not property she required during her marriage. I don’t understand how her husband or his family have any rights to the shares unless they have their own shares to begin with. And how is that joint custody agreement enforceable if it gives control over the entirety of the shares to his family upon his death when they are jointly owned by her. From a legal standpoint, I don’t understand anything.
