What Flora wanted from the relationship was very complicated. She doesn't introduce him to her friends simply for no reason.They dont work in the same place so no risk of getting exposed too. She meets him only secretly over the weekends for 6years. Not telling her ex about having a boyfriend is a total messed up move. That ex probably wouldn't even have asked for one final hug if he knew she has boyfriend. Because we could clearly see that guy was cherishing the hug hoping to win her back and thats why he came to her room to stay overnight to take care of her. She simply ignores to explain anything to Luke but asks him to get married and have kids because she has a list to finish. Luke's reaction to that was very impulsive as expected. She tells her friend that probably Luke's reaction was not wrong. Again her assumption that she is not good enough in Luke's eyes. She was the one avoiding living together for 6 years and then calls the relationship filthy and disgusting. She did everything she could to make it like that.

They both seemed to need constant reassurance about how much love is in the relationship. Flora claims her main problem is losing her job if something goes wrong but she forgets that she definitely loves him with or without any link to her job. Luke is an egomaniac who refuses to come out and say she means a lot to him. I have seen few people out there who have double sided paranoia.Since they slept with the person a bit too quickly before any proper declaration of love, they doubt the other person might think they are immoral and does that with simply anyone. They will be too defensive before the other person says any such thing. But on the other hand, they dont hesitate to assume that the other person won't mind having many partners. Luke keeps getting angry whenever he sees Flora with other guys and Flora does same in her own style. Its very difficult for them to believe that there can be love that doesnt need to pass all the textbook phases in the same order but can have a style of its own. I have seen people ruin their love lives with such paranoia. Each fight will start with a clean slate that's been wiped clean of previous emotional ties. Life is complicated and love is more complicated. Flora and Luke didn't hesitate any second

Perfect way to describe Flora. She is not a bad person but we wouldn't want to be with someone like that unless we love them. If there is no such difficulty to put up with, she wouldn't belong in a drama but in the so called proverbial happily ever after which is nearly impossible in real life.😊

Yes I agree with you. Flora's reaction regarding the dog is just like you said. Once the fight starts, they completely keep aside the trust and understandings and say whatever makes them feel better at that moment. That's actually what lots of people in real life do too. So many strained relationships out there are because people say things they dont mean. Both Luke and Flora said bad things but after separation, each keep playing in their mind only what the other person said. Luke says that if not her, there would be some other girl and thats a very heartbreaking thing for any girl to hear. Flora calls the relationship filthy nasty and ugly while Luke always thought of it as precious. So each said something they didn't mean but broke the other's heart. Flora's tendency is to walk away every time they have a fight. Even though the major breakup happened only once, she behaved like its a breakup every time they had any fight. They both have their way of handling the fights/disputes which is quite realistic I say. Too much understanding in a relationship between youngsters is quite rare.

Thank you for taking your time to give me such a good reply .😊I had two perspectives in mind. One, not giving her any benefit of doubt and second one is, everything you said now. She never harmed anyone actively. All she did was passive and thats due to her hyperfocus on career. The writers left the flaws of FL to each person's own judgment. People didn't differ much in pointing out issues with Luke but there is a vast range in criticism about Flora. Almost each person found a different problem with her. I can either say its brilliant writing or bias to make the ML better one in the end. I would love to see a FL who is very strong but not icecold frigid. Flora came closer to how I wanted to see a FL if not for the writer's choice to make her a person who has characteristics that are uncommon in a girl who comes from a loving family.

I read your review and felt same! There are couple of things that bothered me but noone seemed to talk about it so far. About Flora as a person, not as a lover. Entire series she is never shown to do anything, not even heating a cup of Ramen in microwave for her flatmates who she calls family. Always its others who keep things and food ready for her including the arrogant guy Luke. Yes she is totally focused on her career but other people around have careers but they made time for warmth and care towards close friends. When she was sick with contagious pneumonia, Luke took care of her but when he got kidney stones, which is pretty serious pain, she behaves like she cant wait to get rid of him. Yes they were in the middle of dispute but its same when she was sick. How is it romantic when she watched Luke dragging himself to make chicken soup for her in that state? He is half pretending but she doesn't know that! She never spared any moments to talk to her male roommate who always cooks for her and does nice gestures all the time. When that poor guy was in depression she had zero clue(her roommate Sun Yu proved to be much warmer individual)and she calls him family for what? If she had bad family background or past traumas that made her as a ruthless self-centered person that would be justified.
Also, when Luke submitted resignation to support Flora about the sexual harassment case, its established that he would do his best for her. She even accepted the 200k settlement money. After that, and the prolonged road trip to Tibet, trust in relationship should be stronger but instead it had zero impact on her. She could have easily known from 6yrs of work experience that the board will override Luke's decision and prefer the other girl who brings 250million dollars. She didn't tell Luke about her roommate's suicide as if he had something to do with it.It not like she ever really cared for her roommate.She never even took care of the dog she picked up on road, its always others who did that for her. She even accused that the dog chose rich guy, but the dog got least care from her than anyone else and it chose more caring person.
After breakup, why does it have to be just Luke who needs to mend his ways? He didn't even do the things she accused him of but she treats him like dirt when he comes back. That scene where her dad forces Luke to drink alcohol and her, watching the bullying was anything but funny.
And finally, a museum for memories of Flora? Yeah sure she belongs in a museum!

I gotta say its quite stress free so far ! I just have to sit back and bite on snacks instead of nails because Ao Rui Peng is taking care of all villains while my cortisol takes a beauty nap! I dont know if there is a rollercoaster ahead though!😅

Even though I watched just 3 episodes, I felt like its a very uncommon and quirky type comedy I have watched in C dramas in recent times. Its quite refreshing! I am glad to take a break from the dramas that keep my mind in constant debate, searching the color wheel to assign the flag color to the ML/FL.

Just started watching and Ao Rui Peng is looking so stylish and handsome!!😍 I was looking at him in awe and then realizing I missed reading the subtitles and then going back but repeating the same again!!😅

Ooo thats interesting! Then I gotta say he is getting better with each drama. I look forward to watching his shows in future!

Its not fair if I dont mention the things I liked. ML Tan Jian Ci comedy timing is good even though its not used to its full potential like in the ' Filter', his previous show.The slow burn romance didn't make me impatient because they were together in a house while they get closer and bicker each day and that's romantic enough. I understood the difficulties of the production team about the AI face so I tried my best to ignore it.

I know that caring too much for external beauty is shallow, but the only thing that stopped me from raging too much at the FL's character in the last epsiodes is how pretty she is. I give 10/10 rating if I like a show and dont rate the shows that disappointed me. Because low ratings will negatively effect all the hardworking people in the team. So I am going to adjust with just venting a bit here.

Now coming to the point, I was relieved to see someone was frustrated with the FL for being a hypocrite.I will add self centered/insecure to the list. She was the one who lied first but believes she has a valid reason. He never mocked at her but genuinely helped her in the case. She assumed he laughed at her back and then got mad. She never even bothered to know why hero didn't show up for the graduation trip or what hurdles he was facing in his life. She never even hinted him that she was going to propose on the graduation trip but assumes that the hero didn't show up as an answer for her proposal which never happened. Her insecurity has too many layers and in every one of them, she was the pitiful one! She repeatedly mentioned her hero is elegant and aloof and cant be any other way. He had to keep lying to put up with that. Even that was stupid too. What kind of grown-up guy is afraid to be caught with fried chicken and coke?🤦‍♀️ Its not like she was campaigning for vegan diet!
They both are messed up.

Thanks for agreeing with me. Yeah, lots of time its tiresome to watch one lead abusing and mistreating the other lead. After all that ,they will do heavy sacrifices like taking a deadly arrow or take heavy punishments in the other person's place. Then we are left with no choice but accept that all previous bullying is justified

I also thank the writers and director for the huge relief they provided the viewers by not making Fan Changyu annoying. Things I appreciated:
- She is not one of those loud annoying female roles that constantly either abuse or berate the ML at every chance.
- Thankfully the female empowerment of Fan Changyu is not based on looking down upon men.
-She won't make us tired by constantly trusting the evil people she just met and at the same time never trusting her man.
- She wont drag misunderstandings until the end

The list was some of the things that I was dreading to watch before starting the show😅 but was pleasantly surprised and sighed in relief!😂

I just finished watching the series and it felt like the FL Tian Xi Wei was 'living' the role rather than acting! Her character has loads of scope for transformation through out the series. She aced every emotion and all those subtle expressions!
Zhang Ling He did great justice to the Marquis of Wu'an role who struggled to accommodate love in his ambitions!

Yes .Not just Ao Rui Peng but FL Landy Li is also very good looking and the pair is very pleasant to the eyes!😍No frustrating misunderstandings.
Also, since all the crime investigation procedure is set in ancient timeline, there are lot of things that are new to watch unlike modern dramas where almost everything can be guessed most of the times.

I agree thats the writing is very decent. I feel very uncomfortable to watch when ML tortures FL or (vice versa)on suspicion in several dramas. I dont remember the name but the ML presses his thumb in the wound of this same FL in this drama, leaves ants on her, God that was horrifying! It is so stressfree and relaxing in this drama so far!

And hey, as a fan of Ao Rui Peng, I guess it's ok to complain about the following concerns after watching 5 episodes:
I agree the story is that type, but he was part of background crowd in several unnecessary scenes which is damaging to his aura. He cannot be in the spotlight all the time, but that million dollar face deserves an emphatic presence instead of too much dilution and ineffective camera angles.
Hope I will change my mind after watching all episodes!🤞

Off day, pizza and Ao Rui Peng on screen, what else can we ask for! Its a good drama! Brings back memories of forensic lectures on autopsies!😅
