No, he's the one going crazy because Tao is making her own decisions, and he assumes she's making bad ones. Thus, calling her "cheap and obedient". Long story short, he was very disrespectful to her.

He has no right on earth to talk to her like that. Luke definitely deserves an invincible slap.

That's why they shouldn't be together, even if it's just a weekend relationship, which she wants. Because they have strong feelings for each other, it would be messy. Communicating would have helped them to address their issues. But when do they have to do that?

I actually enjoyed seeing the three of them interact like that. It reassured Tao that there isn't anything between Luke and 3rd Wheel. It also let 3rd Wheel know that Luke's ship has sailed to another destination. It also helped Luke hold on to Tao longer, something like that.
