I've studied literature for four years and never heard something like that, so thats your personal interpretation, doesn't have anything to the right definition of tragedy which is "a serious and dignified style the sorrowful or terrible events encountered or caused by a heroic individual"

The word itself means "an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe or unfortunate events such as betrayal death, etc."

Tantai Jin life is literally a personification to that and it didn't end well as you said he still slaved to that damn plot until he lost his life when did he get that family as you said? that ending is even more pitiful than his complete disappearance and if we didn't categorize this as a tragedy what does a tragedy suppose to be?
Even Bai Lu herself said, "It's a perfect tragedy".

The ending of the drama doesn't have anything to do with the novel, the only related part is their daughter!

YEP, I wish to erase it too if I knew this from the beginning I wouldn't have watched, the world is already cruel out there/ They want us to gulp this even in entertainment what a sadistic mentality.

They can't bc it will create more buzz with such ending as if there is no Xianxia with such ending, all Xianxia out there is almost near to this but this was more worse bc we didn't get even a glimpse of happiness in all of its journey which really makes it far more worse than all those Xianxia dramas, a proper HE was a must here but says to who these people only listen to themselves.

I was planning to rewatch it after its ending but that end ruined everything for me "This literally was the worst ending in all Xianxia I have watched".

Nope i lost my appetite to all kinds of drama, I even deleted Youku application bc of Anger 😔

This ending really ruined any futuristic watching plan, it will not have any rewatch value for many viewers.
