Title The Early Spring Spoiler
Ok, idk if it's my brain, but I don't get what he means when he says "If it weren't because I wanted to prove I wanted to be with you forever, I'd have made you pay for today", will someone enlighten me, please? Thanks.

I actually tried watching this drama when it first came out, and the moment TSY appeared, I knew it wasn’t for me. Back then I didn’t know much about Jing Bo Ran, but after finishing TES, I thought I’d give this one another chance. And… yeah, it’s still not happening for me.

The FL’s acting just doesn’t click with me at all — I never feel any chemistry between her and her co‑stars, and it makes it hard to stay engaged. Even her styling doesn’t help; the hairstyles they give her somehow make everything feel even more awkward. It’s one of those things where, no matter how good the rest of the cast is, I just can’t get past it.

Honestly, I admire the people who enjoyed this drama and got to see more of Jing Bo Ran. I’m low‑key jealous of them! But for me, this one’s a lost cause — I simply can’t get through it because of the FL, and that’s okay. Not every drama is meant for everyone.

Ending this on a light note: maybe one day I’ll find another Jing Bo Ran drama I can survive.

Exactly, I am struggling to focus on something other than Asian dramas unless it’s something like HOTD, GOT, KOTSK etc. I wish we had more Romcoms with good chemistry.

I haven’t watched it either. But I need something to watch just to get over this one!

Guys, I know a lot of us will end up rewatching TES just to keep our sanity, but I genuinely loved all our little discussions and silly fights here. Now I’m wondering… where are we heading next? Take me with you so we can continue these tiny rants somewhere else. It’s going to be hard to find something as good as this for those of us who truly enjoyed the drama.

And all respect to people who felt differently — the whole team, the actors, and the crew really did such a solid job. It’s rare to find a drama with chemistry this insane. Most of the arguments here were about the characters’ behaviour, not their acting, and I agree their flaws were real. No one is perfect, and those differences are exactly what make someone interesting or, sometimes, a bit boring.

I did feel bad during the scene where the FL watched the video of the ML crying over the phone. She didn’t shed a single tear, while I was literally in pieces watching it. For a moment I wondered if she was heartless, what was she bringing into this relationship when he was the toxic one at the start, yet he changed so much for her? He grew, he softened, he tried… so why wasn’t she moved? But yes, people react differently, and that’s fair.

Anyway, we enjoyed the journey. We’ll revisit them whenever we miss them, and in my delulu mind they’re living a happily‑ever‑after with little Luke. I’m grateful we got to know them and grateful for this tiny community we built together. It’s been so fun watching, ranting, and sharing all our thoughts here.

Catch you all on the next one. Take care, everyone x

I really wish Netflix could air all 4 episodes tomorrow because if I go on insta or tik tok I am sure it will flooded with spoilers and I don’t know where else to watch it for free since I don’t want to pay for another subscription!šŸ™„

I honestly felt like today’s episode was a lot to take in, but in the best way. My favourite moment was the scene where the ML looks back at the FL during their first meeting. I’ve always had this little delusion that he must have noticed her too, especially someone like Luke, who’s so aware of his surroundings. The way she looked at him that day felt unforgettable, and seeing the show confirm that he did notice her just filled my heart. Coming back and seeing the ratings drop was a bit disheartening. I understand people have different opinions, but some of the negativity feels strangely forced. For me, I’ve waited a long time ever since HL and TFF to watch something that feels pure, natural, and genuinely rooted in chemistry between the leads. I’m someone who prefers modern dramas because I can’t connect with period or fantasy ones. They feel staged to me, even though I respect people who enjoy them. Modern dramas just resonate more: the corporate dynamics, the workplace culture, the everyday interactions… I see reflections of my own experiences, and that makes it meaningful. This drama, especially, feels close to real life. There aren’t many moments where you’d frown and think, ā€œThis would never happen.ā€ And yes, it’s still a drama, so a few things are naturally heightened but nothing ridiculous. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched something that gave me this feeling, or seen leads with chemistry this strong.

Thanks to everyone who’s shared their thoughts. I really hope those lines were justified. I don’t want ML to come across any more toxic than he already can be, but I’ll admit he’s changing and getting better day by day. And honestly, I wish you all were my friends or neighbours so we could have fun little chats about the dramas together. The TES community is getting stronger here every single day. Sending you all a tiny sprinkle of love and chaos.

This drama started with the FL saying she was in a shameful relationship with the ML for so long and still she can’t take the first step to break away from the ML, this would have been perfect if they were going by the books. In the drama, the ML is so protective, loving and possessive about her to a point that, I don’t think he cares about the world anymore and he is keeping it under wraps only because of his work ethics and because the FL wants it that way. He is ready to even take a bullet for her, and she has seen him going to the ends of the world to make everything better for her in so many situations. And since they have toned down the ML’s character so much in the drama compared to the books, I really feel like those words from the FL doesn’t go very well. What do you guys think? Am I wrong?

I’m sure Luke and Flora were thinking about what they actually do on weekends. Physical exercise, if you know…
Good thing she didn’t say that because what if Tracy already knew about them and if she said that, Tracy would be the one to sweat and leave the room lol 🤣

When he was scolding the FL while driving home, he reminded me of Sang Yan from Hidden Love, it was so funny, sometimes I feel like Jing Boran looks like Victor Ma, probably its just me!
