There were three kingdoms in Dahuang, among which Chengrong against which XA mother fought and won, which was then absorbed by XiYan.
Xuan is from XiYan. His grandfather is the ruler. His uncles want him dead so that they can ascend the throne peacefully. Usually he will refer to himself as « Cang Xuan XiYan ».
XiaoAo is the daughter of the HaoLing King and also grand daughter of XiYan king.
Xuan was sent to HaoLing in disgrace when he was young due to the plotting of his uncles. We dont know much about the hows, but I suppose we will learn about it 8n the upcoming episodes!

10 years ago, Yang Zi was approached to play A-nian, which matched her age and image at that time.
The drama was never made, but 9 years later the LYF drama creators still wanted YangZi, but this time as XiaoAo, and here we are today!
That was also the first drama YangZi was able to freely picked once she was fred from her horrendous agency.
