As for Min Jung, I don’t think she deserved the pain she went through, but that “door” she mentioned was always going to stay slightly open, it had to. They were together for 13 years, and the woman died while she was pregnant. You married a widower and raised his child, that distance, that sense of unfamiliarity, was always going to be there. She was a good person, and she became a great mother. Her only flaw was being too reserved. In a way, that quiet side of her passed on to Seo Woo. But I still like her. And as for the ML’s best friend, with that kind of logic, how did he even become a psychiatrist?
I’m not someone who believes in fate, but while watching the show, that was one of the things I kept thinking about, was this really what was written in Cha Yu-ri’s destiny? How can even the smallest decision we make lead us into such a painful, inescapable life? I felt the same emotions she did when she defied the gods in the early episodes. Why did she have to go through that? Why did she die without ever holding her child, only glancing from afar? I guess some things really are written into a person’s fate.
Sometimes, when people reach their lowest point, they think about suicide, it’s a possibility that just sits there in their pocket. One of the characters died that way, after being bullied at work. Watching her mother protest alone in front of the company broke her completely. It’s hard for the one who leaves, but it’s even harder for those left behind. At times, I felt like the side characters disrupted the story, but I still couldn’t bring myself to dislike them. No matter how old we get, do we really always need our mothers? Especially when we were young, we never thought that our mothers might also need their mothers. I don’t know, I look at this show through such an emotional lens. The actors were amazing. They cried and made us cry in every episode. I had seen the male lead in Prison Playbook and loved him there too, it was great seeing him again. If anyone who has lost a loved one watched this show, I’m sure it hit differently for them. You’re not alone, remember that. I also loved watching the female lead, I’ll definitely watch her other dramas. I liked and understood the stepmother, Yu-ri’s best friend, and her brother too. Yu-ri went through the grieving process step by step, saw all the pain she had endured. It was truly heartbreaking. In the final scene, when Yu-ri looked into the mirror, said goodbye to herself, and walked toward death, something inside me broke. I was wrecked watching that. 10/10.
Not gonna lie...I'm so bored watching ML's trying to get his wife back. It's supposed to be funny but it is not. After ep23, I feel like...bored. But it is not about Lusi or William. They are gorgeous. Maybe it is because I still do not like ML. If I were FL, I would not forgive him probably.
