He didn't save her life just out of kindness. He wanted revenge and he was going to use it. So he acted in his own interest. And yes, Liu is not an angel. Also, I'm sure the CXZ deserves hate to a point.

I can't understand what Liu is thinking or feeling right now. But if she doesn't hate him at the end and doesn't take revenge on him (which is against her character) and continues to play house with him, it will be a complete disappointment.
