I have been a hard core Asian media fan since 2008 when I first watched Please Teach Me English! after mistaking the preview of the first view minutes as an alternative animation (big anime fan at the time and part of my name is based off the anime not the color).

Then graduated to dramas from the Korean Drama He Who Can't Marry in 2009.

Then J-drama murder mysteries in the 2010s but started with the classic series Liar Game.

Then Taiwanese romances
Then a random watch of Arsenal Military Academy led me to watching my first Xianxia 50+ episode epic Chinese drama and decided I could handle those too.
Most recently, I've discovered Thai BL but am glad to see more money is going into the genre other places too.
Murder/Mystery/Crime/Suspense used to be my bread an butter for television. I want to get back into it in Asian dramas. I enjoy the cultural differences with regards to process and procedure as a Criminal Justice major and previous background investigator. And there are still a plethora of drama's I have yet to explore. Look forward to watching with you!
I don't have an issue with ranking anymore. Time is precious. Ranking and reviews help people save time. I'll try to give merits where they are deserved and will note I've seen very few productions that are deserving of ABSOLUTE derision (American productions). I hope I never feel scorned enough to hand out 3.0 or below.
Ranking Scales:
10 - Loved it. Perfect and I will re-watch or perfect but I won't watch again cause it's sad.
9.0 - 9.5 - Loved it. Nearly perfect. I will re-watch but there were flaws. Usually too long or too short. Might have felt it drag on some episodes so I might skip those. Conclusion was acceptable.
8.0 - 8.5 - Good. Might watch again if I am bored or want to relive the experience of seeing some scenes I found memorable or charming. Solid drama. Might recommend for a good watch but might not be fully integrated into my re-watch library.
7.0 - 7.5 - Watchable. Was entertaining and engaging. Not gonna re-watch and it might not be for me.
6.0 -6.5 - Passing grade. It had all of the basic elements of a drama but the execution did not engage the audience for some reason. If the grade is this low, it's probably multiple from the pool of writing, directing, music score/lack there of, acting, sets, etc.
5.5 - 3.0 - Not only did you not meet basic criteria for basic writing, directing, music, acting, and sets, the production tonely can't even fit into the genre it's supposed to be classified for. It's a step from being a parody of itself. I'm sure there are articles on production incidents at this point.
3.0 - 0.0 - I'm pretty sure the finance department for this production needs to be investigated for connections to money laundering because everyone else DID NOT EVEN TRY. I know of some American productions. Fingers crossed I don't witness the foreign dramas that do.
