There was a rush to reveal the sister might be alive, but revealed a birth secret, then illude that the mastermind behind the lighthouse might be her adopted sister's twin and that she may have killed her for reasons unknown. It may imply a season 2 but this was very poorly executed4/10

Somehow the organization that makes accidents look like murder helped a person who just murdered someone who had an accidents just moments before; KNEW enough soap would force the accident? What?4.0/10 - there were leaps there were convenient circumstances and nothing is connected to the other string of murder accidents. What?!

More plot is unfolding as a witness PI to the assailant and victim reveals all the circumstance. But I find the fact that she knew about the dumbwaiter convenient. Also, the timeline is weird. According to the wife, he had just pulled her out of the suitcase right before the murder. But according to everyone else he had the weird private behavior for a long period of time. 6/10 - not making sense at the moment

So the circumstances are mostly revealed. They followed the wife and found a lot of things to help justify their theory. But it makes no sense to me. They make a big deal about how the wife used to be fat but now she is thin. They literally said that only a child could fit in the dumbwaiter. But maybe they will reveal more in the next episode.6/10 - only so much revealed

This can be a subtitle problem in which security says it found a missing item and the plot reveals it is stolen. We see the wife come to talk about her husband it makes me think of a similar plot in a European drama (Death in Paradise). There were comedic circumstances but the plot was very clever in the reveal. There are less complications in this plot, however, I think the wife's poor acting and response is to her husband's death is the biggest indicator that it might be similar. The drama, as per usual, is spoon feeding the audience where they want people to cast suspicion. In this case, I am happy for it, because the wife acting like she was mourning was very bad. It seems it was bad for the plot and the audience to catch on that she is suspicious.5.5/10 - The plot is there and it is interesting but the script and direction does not trust the audience. There is a scene with abysmal acting and I palate it because I've seen something similar and assume it is literally a plot device. But, I don't think a person who hasn't seen a similar case might think the same way. It just looks like abysmal acting. When the drama is sometimes already kind of campy this choice undercuts the tone everyone else acting tries to set, so even with my suspicion in mind, I have to lower my rating for the episode. Too much infantilization of an adult audience.

There is a lot of setup. It looks like they tried to give the audience some humor by having some of the officers nausious at the sight of the 10 day old corpse. But the genious psychologist is supposed to be so quirky and into his methodology that he climbs all over the crime scene. It's fine but forced. However I am used to it now.6/10 - we're back to quirky mystery team setups.

Ok. A lot of work was done in this episode.We finally get an explanation as to why the female lead, Zhuang Lan, is so quick to categorize cases as murders rather than accidents. Without revealing to much, her sister was in a car accident and there were suspicious indicators of her death prior to her actually dying.Some other shots reveal that the intro to this drama is not so random. It seems to depict key items in these cases. I appreciate this a little bit as I've recently complained that I was slightly upset by Taiwanese and Chinese drama intros because they often spoiled the plot by putting footage of the drama in the intros. Of these two worlds, I'd rather have innocuous clips from random places that seem strangely placed than clips of intense moment from the drama that reveal major upcoming plot points. So for my review for episode 1 I rescind some of my sarcasm. While the episode itself is fairly good, I do not think it was a good choice to wait until more than halfway to the drama to give us a fully fleshed out account of the main character's motivation. Not sure if this was the director or the producer's choice but I feel like it did a disservice to the drama. They implied this motivation in the first episode but it really wasn't enough for the audience to grab onto. Artistically, I think it is interesting to not drop the weight of the characters motivation on the audience right at the beginning. However, the execution makes me a little bit upset for the creators. They took a long time establishing why the audience should care.8/10 - the episode was good. But for the overall drama, some of this information should have been clearly front loaded.

As stated before, the guest star, Xu Qiao Yue, the student did some heavy dramatic carrying of this drama. She confesses seeing her friend suicidal. There is an abrupt switch into this character giving a rowing speech about justice. The edit and music is too abrupt to ignore. However, the actual speech and the scenes the speech is laid over are appropriately dramatic and make her circumstances even crueler. For the sake of his art, this man felt more inspiration when she got defiled by 3 additional men.We cut to a scene of her in the office acting contrite and the Female lead wraps it up by saying she arrested the 3 man who assaulted her. Here's the leap. The female lead says she could not have possibly learned how to do this by herself and someone must have helped her. *Eye roll for me* and I think back to the original suspects quote "Officer, on what grounds do you say that?" Ugh. This girl, by the time she hits the camera, NEVER, exuded naive energy. She always seemed smart and calculating when we see her as a witness after the murder. They can assume the victim is a minimum a pervert cause he moved from a lofty art gallery to a studio in a poorer area to cheat on his wife with young adults but she, a student at college, had to have backing rather than something she heard or saw. The girl tells her someone with a lighthouse photo contacted her on social media. They somehow knew what she was going through.Then we get a scene with a female lead with her captain. "Why did this rich man with status prey on these girls?" "Why did the victims of assault not trust us to do their jobs?"*Eye roll* If anyone asks that question, it should not be the leader of this team? She is supposed to be seasoned enough to give the answer. Moreover, Cheng Mo, subordinate gave the answer in the interrogation room when they were throwing out leaps of logic at the first assault victim. She can't be a seasoned leader with a newly formed squad and asking cadet questions. That should have posed by someone less seasoned. Sorry, as an audience member she lost credibility as a leader. Her character isn't polished or grounded and it's literally all over the place for the sake of plot. It's frustrating because you can see effort is put into the drama. But you can't have the person who leads you through the drama be this erratic in levels of intelligence and naivete. I'm not saying its the actress, but I think the problem is this character sucks up the oxygen in the room. The other characters can perform to the potential of the drama when she is quiet and they are not trying to work with her character neurotic energy.Not fed up yet. Cheng Mo might get me through it. Cheng Mo has his welcome party but he seems to be distracted by the female lead. Episode ends.6.5/10 - the drama got better. Case resolved. But the female lead's writing is kind of an issue that might continue to hurt the drama.

With no evidence to prove what she did, the team needs a confession. She is compelled to give it once a victim of her actions tries to kill herself.Again, still not so great in the police station. But in the hospital the drama unfolds and her true character emerges. She cares about her friend and regrets that it resulted in her assault too.7.5/10

The girl finishes her story and we are told that the victim did not stop with assault. He threatened her with pictures of her putting her clothes back on after the assault in her family home in front of her blind mother. She continues to give a solid performance.That is until it goes back to the investigative room. Again, it becomes a bit campy in the investigation room. Rather than a real questioning or dramatic questioning it seems like it is mimicking one without the gravity of the situation. The investigators lines are fine, it's just too formulaic and doesn't provide the right ambiance for that moment. Her performance in the interogation room switches to match their energy which is less in tune with the subject matter. Rather than being her character, she becomes a bit of a caricature of a villain. Which might be the problem when the drama is in the interrogation room. The officers become caricatures instead of individual characters.7.5/10 - the girls performance is doing the dramatic heavy work. Her story is interesting until it smacks up against the detectives more camp energy.

I am glad they moved to just telling the girls story vs. the detectives doing a Q & A. She has presence and was able to carry the episode with the victim (assaulter). He is a true villian and the story becomes compelling and interesting once she starts giving background on her assault.8/10 - we watch the motivations unfold in a well performed and cut way

They slowed it down a lot and revealed a lot about 3 active suspects and motivations and finally utilized a 3rd investigators abilities in getting information. I like that they slowed down the pace to focus on the human drama this episode. Nothing spectacular and a bit campy at times but it seems to be establishing an even pace now. 7.0/10

This drama has hit the other side of the spectrum. Rather than jumping to conclusions, they are slowly spoon feeding the audience. It took them a while to get to an easy point, however they are showing the audience slowly each step. I appreciate this much more than the jumping to conclusions version. Here they talk about why the victim had two cups out fairly near each other on his desk. They speculate again but their is actual theory and logic attached to it. And it make valid sense. It leads them to conclude the victim took medicine. They find the medicine and try to use it to push for an autopsy. Now, for me the order of this is wrong. But the episode end with them speculating something (not revealed in this episode but possibly next episode). They reach this conclusion after seeing one detective smash down several pieces of bread to eat in one go.For me, I wonder, how these people who are so suspicious of everything didn't get suspicious when the body was found with 5 times the normal does of medicine. Beggars can't be choosers. It seems they will get there next episode.7/10 - meeting the basics and a rhythm is starting. Let's go!

So the officer knew the spray was used to assault a girl. Again, a leap in logic, but not that far of a leap from the womanizer they already concluded he was. They found evidence to establish the timeline of events. They finally used some psychology terms to justify the witnesses behavior after the assault/crime scene tampering.There was an easy out they could have gone for with the spray and the "victim." I'm glad they didn't. But they haven't established why they keep investigating vs concluding right there. The female lead just basically goes, "it doesn't sit right with me. They easily could have said "all these do not explain why the victim was disoriented during the attack by suspect 1?"At this time I think, I am watching this to see if the investigation procedure gets less dramatic and follows some logic. It seems to be right now. Hopefully they can keep the pattern. Again, it's hard to connect with the characters with only 15 mins each episode and so much to go through. But I am starting to like Cheng Mo. As long as he doesn't empathize a conclusion again, he should be good. The female lead is investigating as well. It looks like the other two are there to ask questions the audience might ask or push the logic closer to a conclusion.6.5/10 - much improvement after a rocky start. Good job Accident Squad team.
