could you please recommend some vertical dramas of similar quality?
With the names being so different across the platforms, That poses a challenge. But I will do my best.
Right now I am mostly using the DramaWave app, Here is a list from there - I will give what information I can on actors mainly ML's and names of the drama's.
Assassin Meets her Match - I would watch this one again. Every comment about this on the app is positive as well. It is a 5 Star. I would rate it on here IF I could but find it.
The Handmaids Counterattack - wish I had more info on this one. I just remember it was fun.
Claimed by his forbidden Desire - Actor is Liu Lanbo it's on MDL under Capital of Falling Hues.

I dislike AI generated Verticals, I wish they would label them. One of my biggest pet peeves. They don't look stunning they look like an animated script with no substance. It has made watching Verticals frustrating. There are less and less real drama's out there.
I am boycotting any AI generated drama's. I hope more people will not watch them so that the Actors will be able to still do their craft and the studio's will learn to respect the talent that works hard to act in these drama's.

I THOUGHT I had found a couple of good platforms. I have tried about 6 so far, and looked into about a dozen others.
IQIYI actually has a good selection of verticals on the app version - problem here is that there are no ratings or comments, however it IS easier to see sometimes who the actors are and that way find the drama on here. Sometimes the actors are not credited though, but most often the titles do match MDL
Tencent has Verticals but they are all for Rent. Even with a subscription. NOT COOL.
DramaWave is the an app I am using at the moment - I chose it because it has a comment section with every drama. Rather nice when assessing if I want to watch sometimes. OR sometimes others have been able to find out who the actors are when using the comment section. They USE to have the ML and FL listed in the synopsis but they stopped doing that. I've complained. I would like that back, but I think unless more people get upset over AI they will stop listing actors because more and more companies are using AI.
And Same goes with DramaBox, I'm using this platform for the year, I doubt I will re-up because DramaWave has mostly the same drama's. The reason I like this platform was you could rate the drama and see the overall rating. AND they still have many of the actors listed in the synopsis of the drama's where you can follow the actor and see what other drama's the platform is carrying with the same actor. The DramaBox website is not too bad as well. Though I think FlickReals website WAS better.
I tried FlickReels, ReelShort, Shortmax, but stayed with the first two for now. They looked ok, but they were a bit more expensive AND they didn't have the best terms at the time I signed up last fall.
NOW that is a platform that looks promising. None of the cringe non-Asian verticals. Non-Asian Verticals are the worst for B acting. But to to use this platform I'd need a VPN, not available in my country.
Anyway, However, each platform changes the name of the drama, and they DO circulate across platforms and now WITH the use of AI .... AI can never replace the "Human" factor. NO matter how good. AI is a good tool to use in assistance when used AS A TOOL but NOT as the complete finished product. Unless that product is clearly LABLED as AI
An Actor is in essence an ARTIST that practices a craft. I buy subscriptions and tune into K-Drama's J-Drama's and C-Drama's precisely because of the incredible TALENT that these Actors have.
IF I wanted to watch a cartoon, I could easily go ahead and watch an ANIME or a MANGA - for in essence THAT is what an AI drama IS - just another form of still master shots that get animated in sequence.
For all intense and purposes the base line is that a cartoon is an ILLUSTRATED set of still pictures that together create an animated story - the "style" can be manga or anime, pixar drawn by computer, or NOW AI - artificial intelligence.
However, a cartoon is STILL a cartoon. No human acting. You can DRAW a likeness of an actor but that does NOT make that movie or drama anything else but a cartoon. Never has. Never will.
Period.
I will not watch AI- When I find them, I click OFF, rate 1 Star, AND send the company a scathing note. It is false advertising - Place it or label it as AI or Anime, then it's all good.

I realize not everyone can subscribe and so that is why I do subscribe. I try to even out the balance. And I like the quality better.
However, it is so hard to FIND these drama's - each platform changes the title of the SAME drama, AND only sometimes lists the actors in them.
(I wish they would keep listing the Actors in ALL of the Verticals on their platforms.)

FYI; There are many Benches dedicated to Alan Yu Menglong being added around the world. GoFundMe has projects that still need funding if anyone is able and interested. I've donated to a few of them.
I can't do much, but THIS and keeping his name and memory alive by watching and sharing any and all information that I find on YouTube, X as well as any other platforms.
It is so hard to watch any C-Drama after what Yu Menglong's agency did to him. And then finding out that these actors are regularly pimped out by their agencies and the companies who should be taking care of them. ANY drama now is tainted with the - IS this actor ok? IS He/SHE a glorified slave by an unjust contract? So many are, it breaks my heart! - I watched Jackson Wang's MV when it first came out, it was so dark NOW I really know what he was showing in that short film. And this was before Yu Menglong passed away. I HATE that now I can't watch these amazing actors in their craft. China has ruined their image Globally with what their entertainment industry has done.
