For a show called Payback there wasn't much, and it wasn't at all satisfying. Should've been called Refund.
The acting was great, but I ultimately couldn't get past the gratuitous sexual violence and depraved murder. After the first few to establish who's evil, the rest were just lazy storytelling played for shock value. What a disappointment. Just my 2c
I don’t know how to feel about this series tbh. The acting is pretty good, the cinematography is good also but…
Thank you for this comment. I was looking for someone to express how I felt. I did not like how Sunny's punishment is sexual violence - that should never be okay. And no one went to jail? Nothing for the man Sunny killed? Nothing about all the victims? Jay was leading such a toxic AF company, and no changes were made?
The show was called Payback, but that's not really what we got here. I, too, don't know how to feel about this series.
Had promise, but didn't do nearly enough with their abilities - why even have them? They could have told the exact same story with him as an acting coach. If you have a supernatural element, LEAN INTO IT, ffs.
Maybe I'm bloodthirsty, but I wanted more comeuppance for all the jerks too. Just me?
Kang Min Ah did a great job tho - hard to pull off "likeable brat" but she did! I was really pulling for her.
Fantastic time travel romance. Twists upon twists! Unique elements; good story very well told over so many eps, great pacing. Got sick of FL not trusting ML tho. 9/10
The whip-lash is strong with this one. A mix of murder mystery with all the gore, workplace bullying-slash-sexual harassment, fated love including a fall-and-catch, comedy sound effects appearing randomly then never again, angry-sex erotica, enemies-to-lovers tsundere romance, crime-solving legal drama, and a dash of sex assault while drunk, all in a 4-hour package. Whew boy.
Everything works out, but frankly I wanted even better for the ML, and worse for the bad guys. Feels like everyone got off too easy and he's just happy with his soccer camp for cute kids because he's aw-shucks such a good guy. (Could have gotten the company after all and had FL or the secretary lead it perhaps?)
Great epilogue though. Wish all shows wrapped so completely.
Fast-forward the backstabbing twins and you save 25% of your time and still get the gist!
Good v evil AND platonic soulmates?? Um, yes please! It's the combo I never knew I needed.
-Amazing- mood music, art and epilogues. But the whole thing was way too short - I need more!
(And a tiny, tiny disappointment: the first trailer was better than the subsequent one and set a better, more ethereal tone than was ultimately used in the show. My hopes were a bit high because of it - just my 2c.)
Well done, well acted, amazing setting which was like a character unto itself. Big questions left unanswered (what about the lives they fled??) but some good stuff here. [And some fun cameos if you're a fan of Taiwanese dramas!]
Eh. Just fine. Nothing I haven't seen before. Shin Hae Sun is one of my favs - would watch her in anything. But waayy too much time on the roommate/ex and VP, and I did NOT care about them at all. Less time on them could have meant more time on the leads whose relationship felt fast-forwarded a lot. Just my 2c
About Arthit being toxic (I wouldn't call it that). His character was a playboy in the beginning and always got…
I hear you, and I get that he was a total player. But no one will convince me that making a move to put your hand down someone's pants while they're trying to sleep, and then whining that you jUsT cOuLdN't HeLp iT, isn't toxic AF. 🤮
What a sweet, organic fall into love! A time capsule, pandemic-era mini-drama w cooking and hand washing, and, man, I absolutely LOVED these two sweethearts! Such a cute story. 10/10
"Love Scout"
"In Your Radiant Season"
"Filing for Love"

Setting the 'spoiler' tag in case someone doesn't want to know.
