He is not hiding he is a "playboy". Those girls went out with him willingly knowing he is like that. During his discussions/confrontation with her he eas honest.....their interactions didn't make her feel embarrassed for her asking him about it
That does not make him a bad person.
he don't need to impress her...she already wanted his attention beforehand....she wanted a lottery ticket....
He was honest with her on how he is...how he dates.
He encouraged her to confess to the guy she want. What did he want and demand from her? Nothing. They became friends/confidant....and he grew to like her true personality

Mr.Gu clean it on his own...because of his relationship with her....she don't expect him to change
These changes are coming organically through their interactions with each other.
Recent scene, he didn't buy alcohol. He got them treats. Being together with nothing forced or expected from them...brings the joy and change
