I actually forgot whether it’ll pickup directly frm where it ended or it takes place aftr a few yrs. I dnt remmber much. Too many books its hard to remember in details. But yes! u should definitely watch part1 to understand it better.

The guy reading the case report at the end is Wuxie. If u’ve seen other DMBJ shows u will definitely know that is. If not then he is the main protagonist of the Lost Tomb universe alongside Zhang Qi Ling and Pangzi. He is the grandson of Wu Laogou(5th master of the Mystic Nine). He is actually narrating the events that happened in the Southern Archives so when he appeared the timeline is already in the future.
As for why Hailou, his mentor and Zhang Qiling went back together, it could be for a case as it was mentioned but since nothing else is shown I assumed it as an open ending. Usually any DMBJ shows end like that-in a cliffhanger. The only one with proper ending is Adventure behind the bronze gate.

Its an open endng so we might get to see them again.

It was mentioned in one of the books that he met Wuxie. But appear as one of the characters in the main series i dnt thnk its gonna happen. He is nt mentioned much in the later books but he is alive as he also possessed the longevity of the Zhang clan (This is based on the book information only).

This was nt related to dmbj universe from what i know so I didn’t include it. It was purchased and produced as an independent project. But if u want u can watch it as it has some elements from the original source.

I don’t remember exactly what he said but he did ask his Uncle what was wrong with him because he was kind of mysterious and never speak unless necessary. Even when he says something its like just 1or 2 words 😄. But eventually Wuxie became his really2 good friend more like a family with Fatty Wang the 3 of them.

He doesnt really respond thats wt I remember even when Wuxie introduced himself. He hardly opens his mouth😁. Thats y Wuxie called him Mute.
