Gosh I'm so late

I actually really liked this drama in the beginning. I didn't mind the childish FL because she has a reason for being like that. But then it started getting draggy and I just completely lost interest.

Let's talk about the good things first, the acting. Cheng Yi did a brilliant job portraying Si Feng and is very good at emotional scene especially ones that include crying. I really like Liu Xue Yi in this too, although I wouldn't say his acting is at Cheng Yi's level but he still did pretty good and I especially loved his character. I actually really liked the villains in the show which are him, Yuan Lang and Wu Tong, I was basically rooting for them to defeat the main characters.

The costumes and sets were pretty nice as well, I thought Yuan Bing Yan looked really pretty in the beginning but apparently a lot of people disliked it. The CGI although not as great as Ashes of Love was still decent and acceptable. Si Feng's fighting scenes in the beginning was really impressive.

The songs were amazing, I loved the title song sung bu Liu Yu Ning.

Now on to the not so great parts.....

Firstly, who edited this drama? Because holy shit, there are so many random cuts that are so frustrating. One of them being at the beginning where a girl fell into a pool or something. (I think it's the FL but because of the editing you can barely see her face) That scene was so quick that you can't even tell what's happening.

Next, the awful misunderstandings. The ML basically had so self love and I find it really baffling that someone can actually be like that. Xuan Ji has shown time and time again that she had no trust in him, I mean she literally stabbed him but he still stayed by her side. There were so many easily solved misunderstanding, Si Feng could have told Xuan Ji his plan to pretend to be Mosha Star and that they could have worked together to solve it but no. I really dislike the trope of purposely being bad to protect someone, talk about your problems and communicate please. But I mean, with proper communications, 99% of the drama wouldn't be a thing.

Next up would be the repetitive scenes, you basically had to watch the ML can beat up, tortured and vomit blood for 40 episodes. He literally spat out blood when he was beaten from the back, which doesn't make sense whatsoever. It was boring ok, I cried in the beginning but then bursted out laughing when I saw it for the 15th time.

Annoying characters, Ling Long and Xiao Yin Hua

When Xuan Ji said she "likes" the 6th disciple Min Yan, who Ling Long also had a crush on she got mad at him somehow. Why? I don't know, maybe projecting her own insecurities? She also very stupidly went and fought Wu Tong herself when knowing she cannot defeat him. Xuan Ji who is the god of war is literally your sister, what are you doing???

Then Xiao Yin Hua, who doesn't get signals thrown at her. Liking someone and in her case Si Feng is fine. But it becomes a problem when purposely third wheeling yourself trying to break him and Xuan Ji apart. She knows very well that Si Feng loves Xuan Ji but still thinks she has a chance. Si Feng has never shown a liking to her and even after he rejected her, she still went for it and died in the end. Was it worth it?

Xuan Ji's selfishness also really bothered me. She didn't care that billions of people would have died because of her opening to bottle that contained Mosha Star to save Si Feng. He himself told her not to do it but she didn't listen. I know that didn't end up happening no one died but I still dislike her after this.

I still find drama more or less okay, it's definitely better than Ashes of Love I can tell you that but would I recommend it to someone? Probably not.

Loved it so much

Young Blood was one of the black horse dramas back in 2019. There were certainly a few flaws but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the story and the joy it brought me.

Things I loved about this drama :

- I think this is one of the few dramas that I genuinely loved every single character even smaller/less important ones. I found myself attached to characters like Tian Hu (the guard), Liu Sheng (the disciple of the 5th section) and Chen Gong (the weapons fella).

- I love the main group. All of them have flaws but you can clearly see the good in them. There was also character development happening which I really appreciated. Non of them were ignorant, stupid or self centred. Even characters I didn't like originally (Wei Ya Nei) I still grew an immense love to especially when he defended Xue Ying's parents and stabbed himself to retrieve the antidote for Zhao Jian. Even if Xiao Jing is a 傻白甜 character, she still isn't stupid. She is self aware and always tries to be as helpful as she can.

- The cp between Yuan Zhong Xin and Zhao Jian was sweet and heart-warming ☺️ They didn't just randomly fell in love which you gotta appreciate. They only started to realise the feeling they have for each other after getting along being friends and going on life threatening missions together. I liked how everyone in the group were making jokes about it and trying to get them together.

- The comedy was actually funny. The jokes that happen in this drama is genuinely so funny especially scenes with Yuan Zhong Xin ? Personally I don't find a lot of Chinese dramas funny, the only other drama that had me continuously laughing was Joy of Life.

- The distinctive costumes each character had is something I really appreciated. Even if you don't recognise any of their faces, you can simply tell who they are by looking at their outfits. They aren't the best looking but it is such a breath of fresh air from high budget drama that had character wearing similar costumes. Plus, it all matched their personalities.

On to the not so great things :

- Too many forced plot twist. There were a lot of "oh you thought this character was a bad guy?? No, he is actually a good guy" and vice versa. If there were only 1 or 2, it'd be fine but there was just too many in this drama.

- Some scenes that don't really make sense. There was this scene where the bad guys were chasing this dude and they're using crossbows to shoot at him. They surrounded him and he was forced to jump into a river. Because of this, they proceeded to shoot at the river but then it gets cut to the next scene with him laying next to the male and female lead behind a shop. Huhh?? The river was skinny okay and if this happened irl he would have 100% died. There was also no way that he got up from the river and no one saw him as there were like 20 bad guys.

- The ending was underwhelming and really confusing. I know it's suppose to leave space for a second season but it definitely could have been written better. Plus it's been 3 years, where's the 2nd season???

- The kiss scenes were awkward and cringe. ML and FL had 3 kisses in total, 2 of them were accident kisses which I absolutely hate. ? One in the carriage and one when the FL got scared and ran into the ML therefore kissing him, doesn't help when she slapped him afterwards.

Despite it's flaws, this is a genuinely enjoyable, funny, entertaining drama to watch. I highly recommend people to watch it especially if you like character development and friendship. I personally loved this drama so very much and am looking forward to the second. Please when is it gonna come??? ?

I have rewatched this show so many times that I've lost count.

Let's just start off with the negatives that is the weird family dynamics in the romance department.

When Michelle Yim's character Yan Hong married Ha Yu's character Gan Tai Cho, her daughter Linda Chung's character Yu So Sum becomes the step daughter of his and subsequently the step sibling of his children, one of them being Raymond Lam's character Kam Wing Ho. In the end these two, Yu So Sum and Kam Wing Ho ended up as a couple.

The other weird couples being Moses Chan's character's Kam Wing Ka dating Tavia Yeung's character Suen Hou Yuet. Although Ah Yuet is adopted, they were still sliblings for the longest times and it feels kinda weird. Last one is Kate Tsui's character Lo Ka Mei dating both Kam Wing Ka (Moses's character) and Chris Lai's character Kam Wing Yuen who are blood related brothers. Lo Ka Mei is also technically their cousin but I guess because they have no blood relation, it's fine (?)

Now on to the good parts finally.

The story writing and plot is simply fabulous. There were comedy, emotional scenes, and the acting makes everything so great, especially the emotional scenes with Ha Yu's character. He deserves the best actor of the year award back then. Michelle Yu also did an amazing job portraying the antagonist of the drama. She's very good at these conflict heavy scenes and her acting is brilliant. Also Susanna Kwan, she brought in comedy, made people hate her but at the same time sympathises with her towards the end, like Michelle she is also amazing at conflict heavy scenes, she was also the one singing the title song of the drama which I love.

I just want to take a quick moment to appreciate Kam Wing Ho. He is easily the best character of the show in my opinion. He is kind and protective especially towards his family. When Ah Yuet went missing, he literally searched day and night for her. He literally gave up his studies and opportunities to help out his family. He simply amazing.

This drama has a high rewatch value for me personally. It's somehow still so good and refreshing even after the 7th time, I don't know how they do it. This drama and the whole series of 溏心风暴 was so iconic and enjoyable, maybe except the 3rd one, that was underwhelming.

I would highly highly recommend anyone to check it out. Even if you're not a big fan of family dramas, it is so very good.

The first 10 minutes of this drama already screams danger

Truth be told, I was really looking forward to this drama and checked it out when it went live. Sadly, it didn't go so well.
The events that happened in the first 10 minutes of the first episode already made me want to drop it and it doesn't get better at episode 3.

The drama starts introducing the characters, ML Gu Wei and FL Lin Zhi Xiao. This is where problem 1 begins with the FL playing the cello. She isn't moving her fingers and the sounds that come up are so obviously edited in post production. They could have at least made an effort for the FL to move her fingers but no.

On to the bar scene where problem 2 arises. FL and her friends went on drinking at this bar. She has a really strict and controlling dad that doesn't like her going out with friends like what she's doing. Knowing this, she very stupidly posted it on social media for her dad to witness.

When her dad went to the bar to confront her, what did she decided to do you ask? She went and sat next to the ML (they were strangers) proceeded to take his coat and put it around herself so her dad can't see her. This is literally so stupid, you know what I would have done? Go hide in the freaking bathroom, that is so much better than taking a random strangers's coat and wrap it around yourself. I would freaked out if I was the ML.

After witnessing all this, madness, the ML reacted negatively rightfully so. He asked the FL who she was and to give him his coat back. The FL was like "come on just borrow it to me for a while, without it you wouldn't die." She sure has a lot of balls. And then, the worst part.... she proceeded to lean against the ML, now with her on top of him with his jacket wrapped around her to create this "romantic moment"

Her dad not being an absolute idiot, totally saw the FL and went up to confront her. He then asked her if the ML was her boyfriend. You know what she decided to know instead of being apologetic to this random guy? She said YES and put her hands around him. How the ML stayed calm during this whole commotion blows my mind. Luckily though, he does get mad and isn't acting along side the FL to her dad. He said they were strangers and the FL went all baby mode and got mad at him.

The dad then asked the ML if he was trying to take advantage of his daughter and because the FL is such a horrible person, she decided to jump on that, accusing the ML for trying to take advantage of her. I feel so bad for the ML, I would have probably cried if I was him.

It gets even worse. Afterwards when they met at the hospital and found out that the FL's dad is a patient of the ML which is whom he stole from his coworker (Gao Xi). ML was just like yea, this dude might have cancer, let me just give them a call without consulting my coworker first. Look at how smart and caring i'am HAHAHA. I still don't get why the FL hates the ML when it should be HIM hating HER after everything she did at the bar. Anyways, because of that encounter, the FL basically bad mouthed the ML to her family, telling them not to trust him because he only became a doctor because of nepotism or whatever WHERE HE CAN HEAR THEM.

Afterwards, because she forgot to take an overnight pass for her dad because he was staying there at the hospital. Another doctor offered her to stay in the doctor's resting room without telling the rest of his coworkers sigh. Plus I don't think they're allowed to do that irl. The FL then laid on the bed, playing her phone when surprise surprise ML walks in. At that point, the rational thing to do is to get up and say hi to the ML but instead of that, the FL hid in the blanket where you can so obviously tell a person is hiding there and the ML takes off his clothes, god I hate the cliché.

It's not completely trash as I really did relate to the FL's relationship to her parents and I liked her mom. The visuals and outfits were decent but other than that it's a skip for me. The side characters weren't really that interesting either. They were your standard FL's best friend female 2nd and ML's best friend make 2nd. I really liked Zhai Zi Lu in Lucky's first love, but here it's so meh.

Basically the FL is an asshole, the ML's actions were dangerous and didn't make sense. Side characters were uninteresting and the story was full on tropes. Idk if it gets better letter on but I cannot bring myself to watch it anymore. The performance of the actor/actress were pretty nice but the story was a big NOPE.
