Ah this one is set in the republican era. I’m not aware of any direct link or impact it has on the main storyline. So watching it would be for pure enjoyment of the fact that the daomu biji universe is still going on.

I loved this series. And I loved the novel even more. Hopefully we get a season 2.

He appeared in a lot of variety shows and also did 2 movies. I think he was also busy changing companies from his previous one to GMMTV and then filming for high school frenemy.

Honestly watching this drama in 2026 made me realize that this drama is old. Like the whole vibe of the drama did not agree with me. I think I'm too used to the present ones. I did not like this one. And it wasn't even the fault of the drama itself.

I'm on episode 3 and Ji Hu of SKKU is a pretty smart guy. He's adorable too. Seriously how r these guys so smart?! And KAIST did so well in this season. I was very impressed with their grit. Amazing play especially in episode 5 and 6. And finally the last matchup wah. Applause to both the teams for doing their best and of course congratulations to the winning team. I so wish for season 4 now. I hope it happens.

I felt like season 2 definitely was much better than season 1. I mean in s1 while 2 would do a task the others were all standing to watch because what can u even do if the task only requires one person. S2 had more of a team vibe where everyone worked together. Nope there’s a season 3.

They are best of friends. Zhang Qiling had to transfer some of his blood to Wu Xie so he could survive so Wu Xie’s does have some of the characteristic of the Zhang blood. And yes he is an immortal.

Kinda complicated ngl. In the drama only his disappearance is shown and nothing further concrete but I think in the novel Wu Sanxing replaced himself with a friend and he himself disappeared to continue his research on the bronze gate and immortality and manipulated events from bts. Might have happened during the underwater tomb exploration. So the third uncle we see most of the series is actually that friend who also raised Wu Xie and Wu Xie discovers this way later in the notes and clues left behind by the real one. The current status of the real one is unknown. (I read somewhere that he’s inside the bronze gate researching and is half dead but who knows)

Of course I’m not a 100% sure but it’s the most likely explanation.

Unfortunately no direct sequel was made for ultimate note which continues the story exactly where it was left because each drama is made by different productions.

I would definitely recommend watching the earlier shows before this one so that it can give you in depth information about what actually has happened till now.
