I just picked it up because I was bored and wanted to pass time while waiting for the next episode of Pursuit of jade, and woooww, I love it. I didn't even know that it is still airing when I started watching it.

I don't think he actually sticks by her for political gain; he only agrees to the second marriage to help her. because he still loved her and he understood her character well after the first marriage. He is a master strategist and could have totally survived on his own.
