Its not just the shape, its the angles. His face was very round when he played Fei Liu, it is very sculpted and angular now. LYN and Lusi have round shape and rounded features as well, they look very good together.

I think it was in his contract - he wasn't 21 when he shot this and that is a no go area for his mom apparently. There are other actors who also don't do real kiss scenes - ie Ren Jialun. What I find hilarious is that its seems like the men are more prudish about it.

What;s wrong with Fu Rou's admirers? They all have one thing in common - they don't give a rat's ass what she wants they just reach out and grab. Chu Mu on the other hand is the only one to give her a choice. I wish they were not all like that - then at least there will be some real competition.
Hmmm, lacking passion is very fair but imho generic endings are the ones where the couple ride off in the sunset together, it is almost like a standard romance ending. This was full of symbolism of Sun giving her independence while protecting her by keeping an eagle eye on her. :)

Tang Dynasty during Taizong's reign is my favourite period in Chinese history. The production values are very high and I am enjoying how some of the real characters are being portrayed. I like the Sheng family and the two main couples but for obvious reasons the others seem a bit messed up. I think its a decent watch, low addiction factor though.
