I think MY is definitely a villain but I suspect he is just a cog in the wheel and not the final villain. I think that is either still Xia Jingshi or the Dowager Empress Jing in Jinxiu. It could also be that the main villains in both states are the Empresses.

1.) I think he let them go because the plot needs to move to Jinxiu and that can only happen if they return together. But I do think they should have left it at Suige finds out too late to stop them. Bc if they kill her off, he is gonna regret not stopping her for the rest of his life even though he knows he couldn't save her from herself.

Yes that would have worked. Or they could have just let them narrowly escape without letting FSG “decide” to let them go. His plot armor is so thick it comes at the cost of making other characters too unbelievably stupid and callous. I don’t t like it when they elevate the leads to this degree.

I noticed this issue on my desktop at work and asked iqiyi IR about it when I saw them. For my setup, Filmmaker/Cinema mode for picture and Cinema mode for sound works best. You may have to play around with yours to see what’s optimal. Hope it works out.
