Well written! Was waiting to read your review. Your review gave me some understanding about DengKe’s style.…
Tyvm. Deng Ke is not a bad director but he is not consistent - he tends to start strong and fizzle out. You are right that it could be that he is just someone who prefers to shoot romance and avoids complexity.

Review In Blossom
"Casting wise… you do not put the stronger actress to first portrayal the character that will be replaced by the actual leading actress."
Pay attention director!!!
This was so forgettable the only thing I haven't forgotten is how narcissistic and off-putting JJY was in this drama.

Totally agree. Just now I also discussed this topic with my close friend. My opinion is similar with you.I hope…
Yeah he was just miscast in that kind of role and it did him lasting damage.

Yea they honestly could’ve saved him.
Nah, she went to visit her father with the baby bc he wrote her that he wants to meet his grandson and accepted Bi Zhi. It was after the child's birth.

Title The Prisoner of Beauty Spoiler
Because it was so rushed for me, anyone care to explain to me how they end up having to split again and got attacked…
The coward uncle's turn was the most ridiculous bc his number one goal is always to stay alive and avoid war. But I guess he was manipulated by gossip that he is weak and his bro would make a better governor. It was stupid logic but in any case he turned bc the plot needed him to. With the uncle's help Liu Yan was able to take Panyi. Bc of of its strategic location and access to the Yongning dam which is the confluence of all the rivers and the key to the waterway, they can threaten all the surrounding states. WS could not retake Panyi and defend Yulou at the same time. So Wei Yan came to Yulou's aid and flanked Xue Tai's attacking army. Xue Tai then became under attack from all sides by the defending Wei troops and the attacking Bianzhou troops.

I haven't watched Wu Haochen (Wei Qu) since NIF2, where he had a main role that IMHO he didn't quite live up to. Unlike Liu Haoran, it didn't open doors to better roles for him and he has been languishing in support roles since. I really enjoyed his Wei Qu in this. He was so funny and likeable and intense at all the right moments that it made me realize he is a really fine actor. I hope he gets some some better roles going forward bc I'd like to watch him again. Hope his role is a good one in Sword into Plowshares which I am really looking forward to.

I must admit I felt bad that I laughed when Wei Qu was able to haul his heavy corpse around with him so effortlessly...

I know everyone wants to blame Daqiao bc she is not one of the leads. But as I have pointed out many times before,…
QM didn't dig the tunnel to betray Wei, she did it to leave her family an escape route. Very different from Yulou's actions which were with malice aforethought. And the thought that an entire clan including someone who was a kid at the time should be executed for failing to keep an agreement... wow!...that is so scary and vicious I have no words beyond that I am glad WS does not think like that.
Anyway, all good, we can just agree to disagree.

Guys, this is my first drama of Song Zuer and I fell in love with her, now I'll be waiting for Created in China…
I liked her from the time I watched her in Novoland Eagleflag. She looked stunning there too.

Did i miss something? What happened to the nose lady? She didn't die!
All the villains got too many second chances and ultimately easy deaths.

Moral of the story - heart protecting plate is just as useless as an orchid. Honestly they made such a big deal of so OBVIOUSLY fattening him up for the kill I was expecting/hoping for a plot twist. Killing him was just plain dumb.

But I was ok that they killed Daqiao and even though it was kind of hinted, it wasn't as obvious. I understood her - no one should have the right to use her Bi Zhi as a WMD - not Manman, not Liu Yan and not even herself Daqiao. That was good death.

Can you believe I didn't understand what she wanted? What was her goal? Power? Love? Respect? But, in reality,…
A vain, power hungry and stupid woman. What a deadly combination.

WS would have just been executing Yulou by the letter of the law of Wei State for her crimes. Don't know what's blatantly wrong about that. Her crimes directly harmed the Wei people. Not equivalent to the Qiao family crime of failing to assist. Besides FL was a kid at the time, she did nothing wrong, why would he kill her?

Feifei is NOT a good name for a girl. Its only cute when she's a toddler. After that, she will NOT thank them…
An English name is a good solution. 👍
Heheh - the truth is I couldn't fight them but I could/can still outrun them - they were all chubby little boys and I was a skinny girl.

QF is an opposite character to QM. Their world view and their roles in the world are completely different. QF…
I agree and its a debate that has no real good answer. But I can tell you I personally don't believe in fighting other people's wars.

my mind is still drifting around Da Qiao being the ultimate coin for everything happend afterwards..We all knew…
I know everyone wants to blame Daqiao bc she is not one of the leads. But as I have pointed out many times before, WS was the one who sentimentally decided not to execute Lady Yulou, knowing she had offered herself and her 50k troops to the highest bidder. And poor Wei Liang had asked him to execute her. So idk why its all Daqiao who only wanted to live a happy life and mind her own business in Boya's fault?
