XY mentioned that BX’s parents were brought in because the painter needed the Buddha to cry, what does that…
Poor King Xian, there is no saving him.😥

The painting story is very confusing. How does Ban Xia woke up from her painting character and why when she dies…
The painting is an illusion that tricks people that get trapped into it into thinking they are still in the real world. The only really obvious glitch is there is no moon bc the painting demon doesn't dare to add a moon to the painting for fear of attracting moon bugs into the painting. But without the moon, you can't tell the passage of time and once someone notices it is missing, they start to notice and question all the other smaller glitches. That is when they start to wake up. Because demons tend to come in twos, I am going to guess that the painting demon's companion demon is hiding in the painting. I don't know what it is but it could be much more powerful than the painting demon.

The evil sandman is overacting. Yes, this actor typically does, but in this instance it takes away from the quality…
He is dreadful. Every time I see him pop up in a drama I get a headache. Hope he retires soon.

Lol - no I just know Chinese and there were so many clues. For example, both dads kept giving hints to them that the moon is the key. Banxia's dad kept writing the word moon on her palm. And when Xuanye runs into his father, his younger self kept glitching when trying to recite "seeing the moon is bright" bc in the painting world there is no moon. But of course Xuanye remembers the missing line and just in case he couldn't, his father had it in writing for him.

Can someone enlighten me! The meeting inside the painting where XY met his Dad! At the clinic, was that his mother…
I don't think so but those shouldn't be his biological family anyway. Pretty sure he is a demon so he has to be adopted.

I think I understand why there is no moon in the painting
There must be a powerful demon hiding in the painting and the moon would attract moon bugs. Moon bugs consume the primordial spirit of demons, weakening them substantially. So Xuanye got the 3 bros to make a very pungent stew to lure his moon bugs into the painting, hoping to unlock the painting before they all get erased.

Don't forget the painting is the opposite of the real world. So his real marriage divination should be very auspicious.
It is also true, she soon reunites with her parents. But I fear it may be only in the painting world, that they don't make it out back to the real world. But I am guessing only.

I think he captured 6 real people to make his painting of 6 wonders of Guangping look lifelike. But just locking Banxia's mom in the statue without making it cry would just make it an ordinary Guanyin statue, its only a wonder if the statue weeps. So he kidnapped her father as well and made him pitiful so his wife would piteously weep for him.

'this divination is very inauspicious'! Please don't let this be foreshadowing! 🥹

Let's see. The suspect list grows. A terminally ill rich and powerful man who wishes to live also cannot be ruled out as the mastermind.

I think the three silly bros are not that simple. Remember the 3 men in black that went into the bookstore and…
I think this arc is about him bc it opens with Sima Lingying mission to find him.

Yes the beggar is suspicious. He could be the third swordsman or he could be King Xinan per my post to @Megumi below.
