The poster of only four of the main characters without SiYi is the same poster on iQiYi. I guess they left her…
SiYi is a very important character. The symbolism of her not being in the cover shots is exactly that. Her being not present affects all of them in profound ways.

BMW. There was a time when it was the ultimate sign of success in China. hahaha.
Its the SUV version of the 5 Series. The top of the line would be the X7 (7 Series). But the X5 at the time would say you arrived. And today the EV versions are the i5 and i7.

I really don't like Haikuo's girlfriend. She is selfish and demanding just like his mother. She doesn't accept him for who he is, she wants him to be who she wants him to be. And he never brings her out with his friends. That tells you everything. And the worst part is oh my, every time she pouts, my eyes get damaged! Hope he ditches her soon.

This is a beautiful and poignant story about how time just marches on ruthlessly and brings change that no one is proof against. It reminds me of Ol'Man River, the American masterpiece about the Mississippi and one of my favorite Broadway musicals by Oscar Hammerstein:
O' man river,
Dat ol' man river,
He mus'know sumpin'
But don't say nuthin'
He jes' keeps rollin'
He keeps on rollin' along.

it's may be just me, but the romance part of this drama make me uncomfortable. It's a nice drama but could have…
Its quite clear from the latest episodes that Wanghe was not that really "not interested". He just felt he was not yet the man Huazi deserved. And of course his heart was pulled in two directions with Siyi. Siyi was so exotic and different and such a classic damsel in distress. She aroused all their protective instincts, including Huazi. The latest episodes show Wanghe grew a lot more than Xingchi. They were both impetuous and acted recklessly in their youth, one almost destroying his future and the other actually doing so. But Wanghe learned from his mistakes in time to salvage his future while Xingchi continued to spiral downhill. Wanghe saves him even knowing he is competing for Huazi and is quietly transferring stock options to his friends even though his boss said its stupid of him. How is that someone with no development? Xingchi obviously will also turnaround for Huazi but that is a huge burden on Huazi. A mature character lives for themselves and not bc someone else. The character with the least development so far IMHO is still Xingchi and not Wanghe. I do agree with you though that Huazi is still too single mindedly focused on Wanghe. I wouldn't have minded if someone else, say Wanghe's boss tries to date her and gives Wanghe a real run for his money.

His visuals in The Double should make you forgive him already :-)
That drama broke me. I don't think I ever hated a 17 year old more!😅😂

Yes I'm with you. Somehow I'm not as mad about Wanghe as everyone else here. Yes, he's ruthless/heartless and…
No its not at all. China has this massive supply of low cost labor that will kill themselves to make that extra delivery buck. I order from Keeta which is Meituan or Mifeng in the drama's delivery brand 3-5x a week. Its cheap and fast.

No doubt, don't at all disagree. But her primary motivation when you strip away everything else is that that is something that friend-zones her for good, esp considering Wanghe's ambitions.

Indeed we are. There are a lot more articles about how things evolved I only posted an earlier one bc I didn't want to spoil people about what's happened down the road in real life.

The perspective of Haikuo’s girlfriend is that of the audience. A bystander sees more clearly than her friends…
As Haikou pointed out, the main reason Huazi doesn't want to work for Wanghe is because then they cannot date. No fraternizing among the work force when it is a person in a position of power vs another person that reports to them. Even if they were same rank it would be frowned upon in most places even if it is not outright against company policy. But it seems to me she is more aloof to Wanghe ever since he tried to hire her bc she reads it (as I do) as he was clearly friend-zoning her.

It is a very realistic portrayal of the evolution of the highly competitive Chinese food and express delivery businesses. I can't help but be impressed by how well the writers researched those businesses.

Unfortunately the way he acts now makes him look ugly.
He could and that would be the grown up way but that also closes that door and I don’t think he wants to do that either. It’s a tough position bc if he tries and they fail, their friendship is over forever. It is very hard to go into a relationship when one person likes the other one that much more.

Yes he was definitely jealous.

He's just pushing her away. Its a real burden when someone you care for deeply as a friend but not necessarily as a lover has feelings for you.

Feng Hua is Huazi
In Chinese, adding "子" (zi) to a first name, such as in "Hua-zi, is just a diminutive or affectionate form. It is like Johnny or Sammy in English.

What baffles me the most is the fact that none of them told Fenghua about Siyi :/ Why is she excluded? She really…
I think its bc as Haikuo told his girlfriend, the whole group knows that feelings are developing between Fenghua and Wanghe but Wanghe once had a crush on Siyi. So they are just being careful about not disturb that until they know that they can really reunite with Siyi.

Their delivery business reminded me of Door Dash, founded in 2012 by students who just graduated from Stanford.…
Its more like SF Express and ZTO Express bc its documents and parcels only, not like Door Dash which goes shopping or run errands for you. And Wanghe's business is clearly modeled on Meituan, a food delivery powerhouse.

Looks like very similar but improved cinematography and CGI to Ever Night. I thought we had finally seen the last of standing on flying swords but I guess nope....
