Seems like Viki follows the VIP schedule of mangotv, so 1 ep behind SVIP schedule (which is probably paying extra…
I have to watch this illegally bc its region restricted everywhere for me.

I think if everyone stops buying the express they will have to get rid of it and just raise subscription prices. That would be a better outcome for everyone.

I understand and I think it'd be better if they just charge a higher price across the board like Netflix. But they are all doing it bc they are all losing tons of money and iQiyi looks like its going bust soon. Most Chinese subscribers won't even pay for one subscription much less advance viewing. Most of them just watch on the super slow non VIP free to watch schedule with ads. We all have to pay a fair price for content we want to consume. Advance viewing is for those who want to pay to watch ahead. In any case, there are only so many hours of in a day so you can't possibly do advance viewing on all platforms at the same time.

You don't have to pay for express. That's your choice. Netflix just puts everyone on express and charges 3x more for it. Youku gives you an option of paying 1/3rd of the price to watch it one day later. Ultimately its your decision but worst case, you pay what Neflix charges. Sounds quite fair to me. As someone who never really has time to keep up with the latest episodes, I am all for paying less to watch later since I can't keep up anyway.

Well Netflix monthly charge is about 3x what Youku charges. Youku would love to be able to do the same and not worry about advance viewing but Chinese subscribers are extremely price sensitive and they switch on and off all the time depending on content.

The princess was not aware she was being punished for something though, I thought that part rather silly. She…
I agree that it was a bit pointless bc the entitled princess likely didn't get it at all but the petty part of me still enjoyed her being stuck in a hole for a day. She may take to following Liu Chang alone bc she doesn't want everyone to know how desperate she is. In early dynasties like Tang, everything was smaller scale and not that pompous like later dynasties with sprawling palaces and retinues of maids and eunuchs. Besides, she is only a county princess and not the emperor's daughter. The other lady that saved Mudan had an army escort, which is why I think she is Princess Taiping, a real princess.

The dialogue was brilliant and sad - I think ironically Shengyi actually got it more than Mudan did.

I guess I'm in minority, but I really want redemption and revenge arc for Shengyi. Her obnoxious family, as root…
I think Shengyi already got the best redemption she is capable of by walking away. It is clear Mudan doesn't understand her. Shengyi is so damaged she is not capable of choosing not to be self destructive. If given a second chance she will hurt Mudan again. But at least she knows it and accepts it even though Mudan doesn't. She is a tragic figure.

After tonight's episodes I felt sad for Shengyi but for once she did the right thing. She can't trust herself and so she removes herself from the picture. Mudan's continued generosity after what she did must be very unbearable,

Sy is gullible and easy to be swayed and influenced. This is because of her family, her father and older brother…
Yeah I feel bad for SY but I also think that Mudan is partly responsible for giving her too much by making her an equal partner. It massively exceeds her contribution and her abilities and instead of making her more secure it made her more insecure. She should have just made her an employee with some small profit sharing. That is already generous. Trusting a business partner that is just plain stupid is no worse than trusting a man who betrays you. Mudan did the former and SY did the latter. She should just buy out her partnership at this point and make her a regular employee.

I wonder. If the Book of Fate also fell in love with a human like CP...then what would happen...to the world 🤔.
He would really piss off Hao Tian by interfering with Fate. Kind of like what happened in Legend of Shen Li.

Tian Ming's real problem is he really believes in his own bullshit. And l like the character and the acting blah blah blah but let's be honest: Tian Ming is full of shit. He is stuck in the Matrix and with his mindset, he will never break out.

As far as I know, Xuanzong's great political rival was always Princess Taiping . But there were so many imperial princes in his family that its possible that he was modelled on one of them.

No Mandarin was the official language of the Qing court so they more or less adopted the Chinese titles. If you watched Heroes 2024 the princess’ father was a Wang Ye and she also had an official Chinese title. However Manchurian form of address such as Gégé 格格 Beile" (貝勒) or "Beizi" (輩子) depending on their relationship to the emperor was also used but "Wangye" was a common way to address imperial princes in the Qing court.
