Tonight's ep 22 was incredibly sad and heavy. I totally understand why WZ is the way he is. His people are being enslaved and exterminated. Its genocide. He is a tragic figure because there is no way he can walk away from their cause.

Well so far, the emperor doesn't perceive JC as a threat so there is no reason for him to try to get rid of her. And if she is Prince Qi's daughter then she is his granddaughter.

I don't love the hidden identity trope, its boring and has been done too many times. I much rather they kept her as a simple orphan that was picked up by her master. The only one thing I actually like about it is that it uncle zones PY.

Yeah its terrible but you can see his conflict. He does not like what he is doing to her. Even when she caught him tampering with her Hello Kitty he couldn't even bring himself to lie to her.

I believe PY left his hair down to show he is demoted and no longer holding formal office. Likewise Xiao Wuxia is trying not to look like WZ and he is not in Yueluo in an official capacity. WZ lets his hair down in Liang when he is not on official business.

He looks good but I don't anyone in masks. I still have PTSD from covid.
