Yes I understand but I can tell you, that won't sell with audiences at all. That kind of realism is fine in books but not in adaptations so I have no problem with it. I remember they covered one of the characters in Dashing Youth in a hat all the time and it bugged the crap out of me. I wouldn't watch this if RJL were covered and hidden the whole time. It just won't work, the drama would flop. With that kind of minutiae, I am happy to suspend disbelief.

That was Shanghai dialect which is very hard to understand even for native speakers. They were both obviously dubbed for that part. Every time CZY tries to add a Shanghai accent in his speech its so awkward I just have to laugh.

No, its worse - the writer actually only wrote Forever and Ever. The story of the past life was only brief flashbacks in the book. The drama scriptwriters fleshed it out.
