So is it confirmed to be Meng Ziyi ? or there’s still chance that another actress is playing Gu Qingzhi ?
But why 30% ? Gu Qingzhi wasn’t even mentioned enough in the novel, I can’t imagine why she would need this much screentime .
There are so many interesting female characters that the director can focus on but they want to pick the one character who’s presence would clash with the female lead and highlight her.
Meng Ziyi’s haters will take this opportunity and start campaigning about how the actress who played Gu Qingzhi should have been the main actress…..that’s how things work in the c-ent.
It’s like the production house is deliberately trying to cause controversy for more buzz around the drama and are willing to sacrifice the actors for it.

It’s kinda strange that the production team has been hiding the name of the actress and apparently they’ve been shooting her scenes secretly at night. But the fans caught on .
Tbh i was worried about how they’re going to go about making Mengjie play both Shen Xihe and Gu Qingzhi , since unlike “the double” and “In blossom” , Shen Xihe and Gu Qingzhi are both married into the same family, so them having the same face wouldn’t make sense at all .
I think Mengjie’s fan are worried that things are going to turn out like “In Blossom” where many viewers ended up shipping the ML with the first actress and things turned out quite sour for Ju Jingyi because she was introduced in the second episode some people got confused about the sudden switch up.
But here things are different, The Male lead Xiao Haoyoung has no connection and no scenes with Gu Qingzhi , he’s never even met her , so I don’t think it’s gonna cause much of a difference on the main characters development if she’s played by a different actor or not.
And I don’t think Gu Qingzhi is the type of character people sympathise or connect with much .
But yeah hiding the name of the actress, shooting scenes in secret is just plain shady .
