You’re right! Jiao’s approach is off. He’s sabotaging himself by reversing the natural order of pursuit and couplehood. On top of that, his communication skills are seriously lacking during his limited chats with Lanlan. Some people insist on wooing in their own way, which isn’t necessarily wrong, but there still need to be boundaries and a sense of tact. Over-the-top onesided bulldozing gets him nowhere .

Finally someone on my same page! Honestly don’t understand why so many people are rooting for Jiao when all he does are exaggerated “high-performance” gestures. Peeling fruits, showering endless daily gifts, handing out umbrellas, picking trash from the beach, even kneeling to peel fruits for guests. Then there’s the overly romantic garden date (effort acknowledged, but still), the snow surprise, and so on… all these when they’re not even a couple yet. It comes across as pure theatrics — excessive, one-sided pursuits while Lan responses were nothing but simply polite. Unfortunately Overwhelming and undermining … ( if you get it you get it).

Sure, some women may swoon over this kind of love bombing, but certainly not someone as intelligent and discerning as Lanlan.

Scenes often showed participants checking their phones, whether they had received a message or not.

But do the participants actually check/see the messages at all?

Some called it inappropriate behaviour as lanlan looked kinda uncomfy during the behind waist lift/hug. He wasn’t holding her waist! He was holding below the chest area when lifting her up unfortunately…

Lotsa commented this lifting/hugging of Lan’s waist and so damned close to her chest (where she is already using own hands to block) action is totally disgusting and uncalled for!!!

I watched that drama already! I loved it!!! Got me interested in Wallace Huo… he was extremely good looking then. I still vaguely rem the last episode when he was letting out a secret smirk/evil grin. I think his evil twin personality took over the good one eventually, his wife blissfully unaware!

I agree too about lan lan more partial towards fang. Because i think the incessant “love bombings” from Jiao might turn negative even backfire if done overboard Endlessly!
