Paeun: Give me the royal order to execute Sambong and his associates. King Gonyang: What about Lee Seong Ye ? I can't execute them without knowing his real condition. Paeun: Just give me the royal seal your majesty, and I will do the rest. Lee Seong Gye will not do anything to me. Lee Bang Won comes and kills Paeun to save their asses. They get pissed in their "righteousness" telling him how cruel he was like seriously?! I understand some of you here calling on Bang Won the villain but the guy did what he had to do including marrying a woman he didn't love in order to oppose those crazed politicians. He was always the one who did things they didn't want to do. if anything, If I were Lee Seong Gye, I would have appointed him the crown Prince right a way. but instead he was viewed as a villain who killed the person who was most wanted in their so called ideal country. how laughable. True Bang Won couldn't stand being Powerless, that was also his inner démon but it manifested the moment he heard those five rules which were only known to Sambong, Nam Eun and Yeon Hee, the rest didn't know that they would be locked a prison called Kingship where the King and his relatives were not allowed to participate in politics. Like what the f*ck???! OK Sambong had Brilliant ideas but those five rules just wouldn't work, and that's where Bang Won deviated from him, that's where Bang Won started to carve a path he didn't know he would carve for himself. The difference between Bang Won and his father was: Lee Seong Gye was virtous, didn't know politics and he was gullible. A powerful man who didn't know to use his power other than warring a way but Bang Won was different. The boy knew how to read politics, and he didn't hesitate when he sets to do something which most people called recklessness, that's why Sambong found him a problem. He was the only one he couldn't control.
The drama is a dissertation on human nature and power, with the fall arc of Bang Won as its core. It was never…
Those scholars died to protect their convictions more than their lives. It's not like Bang Won didn't give them a choice, so they chose death like Paeun.
The series is a massive disappointment! Anyone looking to have a good time should skip it; it’s only for those…
This show isn't about who is evil and who is righteous but how people can go with the search of power. When I first watched it, I felt like Bang Won was in the wrong here but when I watched it several times, I realised why Bang Won did what he did. Our dear Sambong Jung Do Jeon had good ideas but in the wrong era. He really created a system, came to the Lee family to borrow power only to cage them in a golden prison called royalty. The five points were totally absurd during those eras. That's not all, Jung Do Jeon used people to run errands for his schemes, manipulated them but he just couldn't control Bang Won. Bang Won was different from his father. He had the system yet he didn't inform Paeun about it, only Paeun to find out through Nameless organisation. Bang Won was the one who cleaned the mess, who was always the "villain" when everyone wasn't ready to face the brutal political attacks from their rivals, no one was ready ti dirty their hands with blood yet they wanted to save their asses from death. I wouldn't support morally what Bang Won did, but he had to because if he didn't, he would be the one dead.
Just finished the drama. somehow, the ending was a little disappointing to me. I wished they all got connected…
In order to follow actual history, Boon Yi couldn't be together with Bang Won because Bang Won was to be King and Boon Yi is a fictional character not a historical figure.
I have just completed to rewtch this mess and I loved it. As always season 1 and 2 were better than 3. The ending made my blood boil. The only person who survived the mayhem and lived her life to the fullest was Kang Mari, the rest was either prison time or death among the adults, and that creepy beggar whom Soek Kyung gave food and the end creeped me out. I was entertained yet again. People love sky castle bit to me, it can't compare to this one.
I watched two of her works like the penthouse and the last empress and the lady did a brilliant job with the penthouse. She combined human desires, Greek gods, Dante's divine comedy, the forbidden fruit and Hera's jealousy all in one package. I really saw her madness in the penthouse and I wondered what she thought in her mind while writing the penthouse.
I'm from binge rewatching penthouse because it's one of my favourite Makjnag kdramas out there. If you are looking for good and evil drama genre where one is completely evil and the other is completely righteous. This is not a drama for you. If you're looking for logic in a storyline, again this drama is not for you. If you want something calm and relaxing, this is total opposite. 3 minutes in the first episode os season 1, you will witness a gruesome death and that's where your blood pressure starts to spike, because the characters alone irritate you to the bone, by the time things get really heated up, you will be finishing season 1. In otherwords, it triggers something in the viewer. As for me when I first watched penthouse, I asked myself if all rich people lack moral integrity and values and just chase to satisfy their greed. What triggered the most was Bae Rona was a spoilt brat yet poor. She contributed to the vicious cycle in Penthouse.
Hi my beautiful and handsome clownies. Hope you're doing alright. Here it's 2 am but I decided to come by on this page and see what's going on with this drama. I have a huge plan to watch list but every drama I lay my eyes on is just not to my taste, then I suddenly started to rewatch some of my favourite ones like penthouse and the last empress, I finished the perfect crown but it's not a drama I would give a rewatch value.
This drama had potential but it lacked a solid plot line. I was about to drop it untill it brought up some flashbacks which peaked my curiosity but overall the actors did the assignment well. I would blame the script writer. This would have been good or at per with the last empress but it lacked a good plot.
Hallo my beautiful and handsome clownies. It has been a long time. I don't know when I last saw you guys, I even missed Moran's birthday. I have just finished my exams and I also happened to finish erha but through read-throughs on YouTube. hope you have been taking care of yourselves. I'm now watching the perfect crown and some short Chinese drama called palace gambit but I happen to dose off when watching the perfect crown. I dosed off during the first episode and even the second one. I don't know if I should drop it 🤔. As for palace gambit, the intrigue is there definitely.
King Gonyang: What about Lee Seong Ye ?
I can't execute them without knowing his real condition.
Paeun: Just give me the royal seal your majesty, and I will do the rest. Lee Seong Gye will not do anything to me.
