About the physical appearance, I wouldn't say I know what phoenix eyes and calculating eyes look like because that depends on how the actor portrays the character in much more depth other than physically but Luo Yunxi is the embodiment of Chu Wanning through and through. None can take this role other than him which isn't the case with Moran because people had conflicting opinions about the role with different actors.

I watched Ashes of Love mainly because of Luo Yunxi who was fan casted for immortality, because of his role in this drama and the actor didn't disappoint me. There's some similarities between Run Yu and Chu Wanning which the actor displays very well in Ashes of love. Some similarities were detachment, Run Yu wasn't someone who was a social butterfly, Run Yu wasn't as popular in heavenly realm yet his skills were undeniable just like Chu Wanning, his falling in love was also almost similar; Love at first sight just because the love interest is charming and talkative in a way was just how Chu Wanning got captivated by Moran's behaviour. His suffering silently without letting anyone know. Other than that, the drama for me was meh, no driving plot which could make one to sit at the edge, maybe I had high expectations. I was even about to drop it but I wanted to know more about Run Yu. For me Luo Yunxi shined more than the male lead. It's not a drama I would rewatch honestly although the costumes, production were good .However I enjoyed Love and Redemption because although the FL was kinda idiotic but the girl knew how to kick asses and the plot was there, it kept me curious unlike Ashes of Love where love was the centre of the story nothing to look forward to. Too cliché

For me thing which irritates the most to the point of abandoning cdramas or being selective and watch only BL adaptations is the stupid, cute and naive FL. It puts me totally off. I feel like writer's of such dramas question the intelligence of women. I find nothing attractive about it. That's why kdramas for me will be my faves because I rarely see such characters in any setting of kdramas
