Fact 1 - They were pretty close with each other. Fact 2 - FL promised to go to same college with ML and ML worked his ass off to make it to FL's desired premium college. FL broke the promise. Fact 3 - FL being an ass didn't gave any valid reason for her behaviour.
What if one day when they are living happily ever after she does the same. What if she again let go of her affection willingly after confession and move to a different city.
