Indeed, you were blocked because that's all it is possible to do with people doing insulting insinuations. Discussing…
And yet here you are again! You didn't answer my question at all, of which I certainly asked one in the original comment, much less provided a "courteous answer" but whatever. I don't care anymore. On more threads than I can count you seem to be pretty good at gaslighting, and I'm not here for it anymore. You act like you're an expert in people's lives and you make sweeping proclamations about how everyone else has insecurities, but your own comments make you sound pretty damn insecure to me. Projection, indeed. Defensive, more like. I actually make a living irl dealing with some of these issues, and attempting to help people acknowledge them. And I already mentioned that I'm not prudish at all. Moralistic? That's funny. You don't know a damn thing about me, and yet in this one comment alone you've spewed out all kinds of bullshit that is patently false, on all fronts. For the record, I've never once hated on actors here who've had affairs, and think that what a performer does on their own time is none of my business. But once again you're making assumptions that end up being wrong. So bye.
I'm reading the manga right now and it's definitely how the character was written. Ryusei's acting in Cheer Boys!! and Hajimete Koi wo Shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi (one of my favorites) is much warmer and more accessible. And I just started watching Your Eyes Tell and there's a lot going on behind his eyes and underneath what he says. For being only 24, he's got some serious skills already.
I loved this! The crying doll was the cutest thing ever. And it's about the most chaste age gap drama I've ever seen. Yes, she's a minor but it's all incredibly appropriate. I hope there's a sequel since the manga is still going and I want to see more of their story! Not sure why there are negative comments about the acting - that's how manga adaptations often are - and the two leads are excellent actors in their own right.
You've mentioned three of my favorites as well! Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru A story to read when you first fall in love You’re my pet (2017)
I'm not familiar with Second Virgin yet, and I've seen Love and Fortune several times now but still prefer other student-teacher dramas like Majo no Jouken and A story to read when you first fall in love. My favorite K-drama student-teacher drama is probably Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy, which is also an older drama, like Majo no Jouken. I don't mind watching forbidden love stories every once in a while and I like student-teacher slightly more than step-sibling love stories, but I generally like to watch love between consenting adults. Consent is a huge must for me, (and I don't care if it's just fiction.) What did you like most about Love and Fortune? I'm interested in your opinion.
We had the same idea (of pointing out the lack of Japanese dramas here - hahaha - your comment got more response…
Glass no Ie has Saito Takumi as the ML....and he is masterful in it, imo. Double Fantasy was interesting - not my absolute favorite - but well worth watching at least once. Definitely fits within the mature category talked about in this article (if toxic is one of the requirements.)
Disappointed to see no Japanese dramas on the list when they probably make the most mature dramas (and the best).…
We had the same idea (of pointing out the lack of Japanese dramas here - hahaha - your comment got more response than mine, which is fine of course. :-) I'll have to compare ours to see what we have in common....
Thanks for sharing. I'm enjoying this. One because I'm not super picky about some things. But some of then negative…
You're on episode 20? I don't think her worst traits have started showing themselves yet... :-) There are 38 episodes in this drama and she gets much, much worse before the end. :-)
I'm struggling to understand why someone would like to watch content that is abusive and non-consensual...? Are…
You didn't actually answer any of my questions. I haven't seen either of the K-dramas you listed, (as I would rather watch Japanese doramas these days), so I don't get your reference. Simply saying "Think about that" doesn't mean anything to me.
Summer's Desire is one of my favorites. New Tales of Gisaeng was okay. I do love me a good "toxic" romance every…
I just listed Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru as my current favorite as well. (I got so hooked that I just ordered all the manga.) I hope they make a sequel!
It's definitively very difficult for me to find Thailand dramas, I don't know how and where to get the content.…
I'm struggling to understand why someone would like to watch content that is abusive and non-consensual...? Are you saying that you actually 'like' to watch scenes of sexual assault, physical abuse, and domestic violence? I also like, and often prefer, "mature" dramas - dramas for and about adults (see my comment at the beginning of the thread.) I'm also not a prude in any sense of the word. But I certainly don't enjoy watching characters get abused and assaulted, often to simply move the plot forward. It might be exciting to you, but those particular scenes are hell for many of us.
I love "mature" dramas as well, as they're both guilty fun and serve as cautionary tales (other people can go through the hardships and we can learn from their mistakes just by watching.) This list is missing Japanese doramas, however! They do makjang better than the Koreans sometimes. Here are a few recommendations:
Dramas: Kenja no Ai Double Fantasy Glass no le Love Shuffle Kakafukaka Million Yen Women Perfect Crime and my current favorite: Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru
Films: The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese Marmalade Boy Blue Spring Ride
It’s ok to watch once, but I won’t rewatch it. And I don’t agree with the commenters who wanted the FL to end up with someone else, because he wouldn’t have been a catch either. I just didn’t like the writing at all, really. I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of time to watch but there are better dramas out there.
Never mind, I found out but it doesn't seem right that it can't be listed because it was produced in America.
Or like The Ghost Bride, which is a Malaysian-Taiwanese production (and way more Malaysian than Taiwanese), but MDL lists it as Taiwanese only. That's exclusion. It doesn't matter if it's always been that way if it's not the right thing to do anymore.
