Oh, hi there! I wasn’t joking. I’m super dead serious!🙄 but I am amused that you think that and deemed my opinion a joke while proceed to point out who YOU opined is the best heroine. Quite the irony! The audacity!

You must understand that everyone is bound to make mistakes. Be gullible and annoying at times, in both reality and dramas, so why shall that make Jang Ci less of a great heroine? With or without her minor flaws, I can still see that Jang Ci was written constructively. She accomplished several great things in her life, to name the obvious she went on an operation to free and feed the beggars, seek justice for the rape victim, and help healed the sick people. For the majority of the drama she remained relatable and reasonable. Indeed, insufferable, so to me, that makes a great heroine, thank you.

Though, if it may help you see my opinion less of a joke, I will gladly correct myself ‘Jang Ci is one of the best heroines ever produced’ that I have seen. Chu Qiao doesn’t even exist for me.

lol, I really do. I almost think she’s too perfect! I mean for like 1.5 secs I may have started second guessing her actions in the beginning episodes, that is, but quickly I saw that she is one of the best heroines ever produced. I was mostly amazed with her consistency and character development. I adored how practical and perceptive she is in times of hardships. I didn’t find her cringey or clingy; definitely a person I don’t have to constantly question her actions or her level of maturity and mentality. She acts of her age and reasonably within her means…I like her, that’s my final answer! And locking it in haha 😂

Some people are easily entertained? They say if it’s entertaining, then they’re entertained, lol.

I think the sexual tension is so forced. Hero doesn’t come off macho and heroine barely comes off sensual but we are to think that they desire each other so much to even think of making out in the middle of a desert while running away from bandits. How amusing! Why and how are they even sexually aware of each other, I do not see. If they are going to do that, at least make them indeed do the deed when she was drugged; it will support the ‘sexual attraction’ logically and since they have bonded it will now make the chemistry and growing attachment believable. I mean the other Princess already got her ONS, so why not this one too, right? That would be quite a twist. But on a different note, I think sexual tension ideally work better with a slow burn relationship. And it would have suited the main heroine, too, because she does comes off a bit cool in traits. But it’s almost as if the author/production couldn’t make up their mind and made heroine randomly hot and cold (inconsistent) to force certain scenes and emotions. I personally don’t feel like the hero is impressive nor had a cool introduction. He just doesn’t seem cool at all. Even with him behind the wall in that opening scene he didn’t come off powerful, then she officially meet him wounded in the middle of the desert engaging with his animal. He’s rather an oddball kind of novelty, hence that mustache disguise scene, I thought the whole acting was a bit over the top even for a ruse, but it is to be determined…

Not trying to start anything here, I totally respect your opinion, to each and their own. And as much as you had shared yours, I would like to share mine, too, since you mentioned Love of Nirvana.😅

Beginning with Love in Desert, I really want to enjoy it. Long time fan of the hero, and love the desert setting but I’m afraid coming from Love of Nirvana I can never find another drama to live up to its standards. I was fully disappointed by the whole switching identity thing in Desert, it was a poor execution. I can’t believe the clansmen of the second lead girl would really and easily let loose of their ‘Princess’ into the vast, dry desert. And now they are to serve and play loyalty to a random Princess they had never met until then? How does that even make sense? I personally didn’t find the main heroine as intelligent as we were supposed to find her. She’s not a consistent character. One moment she seems smart and aware of her surrounding but too quick she appears less of it. She’s hot and cold with the hero for no particular reason. Why? Playing hard to get? It was so early on, I didn’t get it. And I supposed we are to feel sad and heartbroken for the hero while he was spitting out blood watching the heroine marched to her fulfilling “fate”? I didn’t, I just thought the chemistry felt forced and out of place. Another thing, I thought main heroine was originally from Masui then why does she know the Enaqi song to play for her nanny-servant, and why would nanny keep insisting Enaqi as home in her final breaths after she already failed to keep up with the disguise and called heroine the ninth princess. It should be a red-flag for hero, if he was smarter? Also, are the scrolls not the main key here, why did the heroine gave it away so easily? And why was she reading it in the open just like that in her carriage? Was she testing him? And I’m not even going to start with the second princess and her choice of actions. Simply, I am baffled by these desert people. So far, I feel like the show is amateur writing and characters are either predictable or unpredictably stupid. Again, to each and their own!

With that said, in my opinion, Nirvana showcased a better sense of plot and complex roles with every episode climatically opening up to the next as the whole execution is done perfectly. Well, almost! But the longer you stay with Nirvana, you will see a masterpiece, an intricate level of many things fitting into the big puzzle———proving to drive and thickened the plot unexpectedly entwining everyone and their actions together! Little by little the show had moved past a sadistic hero and with the latest it is moving mountains! Though, I must admit it took a while to get there. Like all dramas it indeed has its dragging points and I nearly dropped Nirvana, too, because I may find Allen Ren and Jeremy good to look at but a tad dull in acting. But I have to say, their dullness becomes the roles most enigmatically. I especially like the heroine in Nirvana because she’s consistent, reasonable, and smart! She’s super practical. I thought one of the few best in a long, long time!
