I agree. Based on the comments, those that have watched the OG didn't liked it as much. I loved the OG and it's hard not to compare. I've watched episode 1 of this version but it didn't capture my interest. I find Atom a bit cringey and the music and sound effects a bit much. I'll try to give it another episode.
Well, they have to if they want to tell the whole of the original story. I wish this is the one with 16 ep instead…
We Are is basically about a bunch of college kids, talking, drinking, making cute faces, flirting and kissing. It was cute in the beginning, but the cuteness is wearing off 😔. But that's just me.
Why that Atom character is so overacting? I watched the JP version, and Aoki didn't even make me feel cringe at…
Haha. You're gonna have to skip a lot then. But I do have the same gripe. Done episode 1 and not that excited to start episode 2. I can't help but compare Aoki and Atom, especially since I've rewatched the JBL recently. I loved the protayal of Aoki in the OG JBL, but in this version, Atom is a little cringey for me. I get that the actor is trying his best and maybe trying too hard? as it comes off as unnatural.
This is prevalent in most Thai BLs, at least the ones I've seen.
Yes, only started episode 1 and it does annoy me. This is one of my gripes with Thai BLs. Currently watching We Are and the music and sound effects gets too much sometimes, it gets noisy. I guess I got used to it as I'm still watching it. Haha. I've recently watched the final episode of a JBL 25 ji akasaka and the music scoring was just beautiful. Maybe Thai BL creators should learn a thing or two from JBLs, at least when it comes to music score. Less is more when done right.
Aww I so much love this bl the instrumental soundtrack is really emotional i rewatched this last episode like…
Yes. I love that it was very quite and intimate before the kiss and no music at all, then instrumental soundtrack once they finally kissed and did it. The cinematography, the connection between the actors, the intimacy, the music, the last episode was just beautiful.
Actually there’s a lot of similarities between Toh and Almond, even Almond is more eager to get what he wants…
Agree. Almond is eager and I say braver than Toh. I don't remember much of Toh but the main reason I dropped that drama cos it was just too cringe for me. And I just can't relate or sympathize with foolish (almost stupid... sorry for the word) characters. I'm so glad I am liking Seng's character here, such a green flag.
