I don't think Yu Zheng has anything to do with the casting of this drama.
I thought I saw somewhere that they would be collaborsting, well...

Whether it's in actual cash or in terms of the time we set aside to try their works out or the support and dedication…
@ sony_t
I'm not arguing against defending the actress though and I agree that criticism should be constructive and not an outright insult. My main points from the beginning have been
1. It doesn't help to attack anyone that says something contrary bcoz even if you do it wouldn't change their minds if they thought someone was too old for a role or not acting right. It would be more helpful to counterargue "I disagree this +ve, this -ve... and not tag anyone a hater.
2. As for bringing up "hard work" and "humble beginnings", I personally feel that there is not one actress that has been onscreen that did not suffer, sweat and bleed to get to where they are, even if they've only been onscreen once playing a support role. They might even be more talented and have the most potential but they never get the chance. I remember now and then sometimes i see an actress and try to follow her works but I find out that their career never kicked off and I'm like "what a waste.." So when you bring up those topics in an unrelated argument it doesn't make sense to me. Instead of saying things like that I think it would also be wise to counterargue peacefully, listing out her merits ( in the actual line of conversation), I think that's a better line of defense.

Whether it's in actual cash or in terms of the time we set aside to try their works out or the support and dedication fans show to support them, we are the entitled ones not the other way round. It's called the "entertainment industry" for a reason.

I find it distasteful to bring up "humble beginnings", "hard work" and every other pitiful subject everytime an actual argument is going on an individuals performance. Is the aim to gain pity to cover up flaws or to make people with contrary opinions look bad.
And again with this silly "haters" theory. I know that what you are doing seems like a righteous cause to you but let me ask, if you were disappointed again and again by a particular product or service and when you complain, instead of acknowledging their flaws and promising to improve, they go on and on about how pitiful their business has been, how "hateful" you are not to sympathize with them and how the right thing to do is to continue taking their crap and swallow your grievances... I don't know about you but I would be stunned speechless.
The attitude is seriously putting the idol in a bad light and doesn't change the fact one bit if the performance is good or bad.
Just my opinion, so please no one should troll on me...

I found Ariel Lin loud and annoying in I will never let you go, but you're right she looked the part.

I have the same impression about the age gap, however ZLY is playing the stubbornness very well. Also it is funny…
Successful yet without substance, as for zly I wonder why she is so insistent that she does her stunts when we have eyes. There is nothing wrong with having body doubles, I don't think anybody would be happy to hear that she injured herself trying to impress her audience with her non existent martial art skills, we have accepted that the era has gone.

Her acting isn't the real problem. She has a very hateful background so she just have lots of haters. After doing…
I think it's mostly bcoz of her popularity. She has become one of the biggest actresses in China, so it makes sense that jealous fans try to put her down , what better way than to attack her acting. But her resilience has shown that she's not just a pretty face and no one can put her down period.

I don't think Yu Zheng has anything to do with the casting of this drama.
Yu Zheng is the producer and he's the one that got in contact with yang mi, so I think he has a say in the casting

It's surprising that I'm not the only one who thinks zly has a problem with getting into character and chemistry. I noticed this from her previous works bcoz I haven't started this one. I've been lurking around here and viewers are all noticing the same thing.
