In the novel, Zanghai is connected to the WX universe. He was the palace architect. However, Kennedy sold off the rights ( name etc) to another co to produce this Legend of ZangHai. The show focus on revenge and nothing much on dmbj… I was hugely disappointed; dropped show after few episodes. Yea, I like to see similar actors portraying different characters.. Liu Chang appeared twice in different characters- tomb of sea, reunion. Now he’s the obedient Fo Ye lieutenant 🤣

That’s true. They kept changing the actors and some don’t quite gell at all😛 I got to recall His 2nd uncle in Ultimate Note. Uncle went to save him and pals from the American guy, and also some scenes showing how smart Uncle was. The actor who portrayed 2nd uncle in Ultimate is now portraying Fo Ye’ s father in law hahaha… That’s so Kennedy Xu!

Nanyang is also part of the dmbj franchise. I have this feeling dat Kennedy Xu will bring the other brother back to live. I have been watching his dmbj dramas and I can’t really recall the male leads being killed off like dat😂 Zhang families are ancient, complex and hugely divided.. Wu Xie’s 2nd uncle is quite a good character. He always protect the little nephew😛 I ll catch up with Cases between us later🤭
I actually tried watching the original and I could not get into it and I actually follow both ZLY and ZXY but…
I enjoy this season more. Lots of repetitive moments and irritating flashbacks in season 1.. Having said, it was a good stage getting to know Er Ye, Chen Pi and Fo Ye’s darling! Such a pity Zhao Li Ying didn’t return as his darling wifey 😛
