For instance they already put the meng in FCY mother's name since the beginning In the novel, it's only known…
yep, many characters are also introduced way earlier than in the novel, even the letters and the fact that he jingyuan has it! i don't remember it being introduced this early into this story. but it's been a while since i read it so i could be wrong.
I really hope they kept the scenes where Xie Zheng bites her and she eventually bites him back too ðŸ¤.Lately,…
I kid you not i never give any drama on this site a 10 out of 10 rating but if this drama decides to keep the biting part i'm about to give my first ever 10 rating for this! It was such an iconic detail from the novel and they just CAN NOT leave that out!
Watching the teasers yesterday, i was a bit worried about how would they squeeze all those convoluted background story from the novels into the drama. From bits that i remember it was so complicated and half of it was not even directly connected to the main characters. But after watching ep 8-9 i think they already change and condense some of it quite a bit. Now i think rather than racking my brain trying to remember the novel plot i would just sit back and enjoy what they give us, cause many things are bound to take a different path and i don't want to confuse myself lol.
I’m hoping they would make Li Huai An’s character arc stray a bit from how he ended up in the novel cuz he…
If there's one thing i've noticed about this drama director's previous work, other than his visual style, is his ability to highlight the villain/grey characters pov just as well as the main cp's (a familiar stranger, butterflied lover, and blossom all have it's own portion to create a solid background story of the villains) so i think, we can be rest assured in that he'll take care of it
LMAO, I kinda like that they made some additional changes on his background as yan zheng (it makes his disguise…
Yep yep! This adaptation seemed to focus on building the main CP romance even more than the novel. I think they're going to have to really simplify the whole political aspect of the story hence why more characters got introduced way earlier than in the novel.
why people saying that not ZLH voice ? that’s his voice no ? I recognize the tone unless there’s something…
Iirc once i heard a chinese reviewer mentioned that his line delivery wasn't that good especially for period drama dialogues. I think that's probably why the team decided to dub him.
this series (or rather WETV) is weird because i can watch it just fine on my desktop but i still can not find it on the mobile version app. also, does anyone know which language/dialect that they speak in this drama? is it cantonese? it doesn't sound like modern standardized mandarin but i'm not a chinese speaker so idk
I've watched it halfway on yt a few days ago and then suddenly it got blocked :( by any chance do you know the original platform where it was uploaded? Is it available internationally?
just started this and I need Ryan Cheng to play more Tyrant roles or the role he played in my journey to you.…
his team (if there's one) actually does a very great job in managing his career trajectory. less than five years ago he was still dealing in short dramas and small roles in full length drama. from a familiar stranger in 2022, and then second lead in my journey to you in 2023? talk about career leap! all he need to do is staying away from scandals and his career would be smooth sailing, imo.
i can't comment on the story yet. but i really like the styling (hair, make up, and costumes) in this drama. i love that they actually sleep in loose hair and loose clothing. anything else can be forgiven because of the fantasy-fusion elements. the existence of a random drag character also surprises me a lot (i haven't watched the donghua nor read the novel so idk if Mr Bei exists in those versions as well)
If i could watch dylan wang - qin lan's 20 years age gap in the rational life then i'm pretty sure i'll be able to watch this one just fine. People are usually wary about the grooming element of an age-gap related story so i guess let's hope this one would be able to handle it well.
I actually like that. It just adds as little bit of variation and makes me pay more attention to the scene. The…
Yup, it would be fine if it was used sparingly and intentionally, but i find it a bit too much here cause they use it even when characters are just casually talking or greeting each other. Sometimes i think they do it just to fit actors with different heights in the same close up frame lol.
I can tolerate anything else but the camera angle/framing; why does the camera director think it was a good idea to make certain scenes looks tilted? It makes me dizzy cause my head unconsciously follows the tilt lol.
