She's not any more problematic than a lot of Hollywood celebrities but delusional Kurt Cobain stans have been hating on her since they started dating which was 2 decades ago, even going as far as to accuse her of killing him. They're no different from the psycho Hanno shippers with their fugly masks.

Well its not easy for people with mental illnesses or in a toxic relationship to cut off contact with their abuser. Like the whole point of a toxic relationship is one party abusing the other party until they become dependent on them.

? You did though? That's the only reason you provided for the question and that's how I took it. It came off as a very backhanded way of saying people are shallow if they aren't watching this. It's fine if you don't actually think this way. A few people on social media don't equate to every rom-com watcher.

The Social Love episode as well is not supposed to operate on logic. It's a dramatized, satirical look at stan culture. So obviously there aren't teachers and staff to supervise. Again, making Yui the victim is on purpose. Often times when celebs get involved in a PR relationship, it mostly benefits them while the real significant other is seen as a cheater and a liar. That does happen. The show took it to a next level for maximum impact. Yui being the victim was actually a poignant reminder of how our actions also impact others as well as how stan culture can ruin an innocent person's life (Courtney Love, anyone?) Hann's punishment is very fitting. He wanted to be linked with Nanno for his own benefit and now he can't ever get rid of her. I also saw it as a parallel to how celebs like Taylor Swift will always be linked to her exes, it doesn't matter if she broke up with them a long time ago, in the public's eye, they're forever a part of her. Again, Hann doesn't break up with her like a reasonable person bc he's a shallow bastard. I saw a person explain it like this:

"I went to high school with a kid in an earlier grade than me who was bullied, snapped, went on to m*rder his mother with a kitchen kn*fe and tried to do the same to his brother. Most teachers won't exploit their students but it happens." Most people don't think about shooting their classmates but some do. Most people don't think about r*ping others and then k*lling them, but some do. Nanno targets these people whom she can tempt and are selfish. She isn't always right, however, like with TK she misjudged him initially. It also shows that we have a choice in our lives to lead it as decent human beings or as depraved individuals.

I do agree the 2nd season was not up to par and I could care less about Yuri.

I think you missed the whole point of this show? The whole reason why none of these people acted reasonably when presented with a situation most people would get over is bc they are bad people who made bad decisions. Take a look at Mew in the Trophy episode. Like you said, she could've simply practiced, spent some money on art lessons, or admitted to plagiarizing, she did none of those. It's not because these were plot holes. It was done on purpose to showcase that life is full of decisions and by making these decisions, she dug herself unto a grave which is where Nano comes in to simply cover the grave.

You saw how even until the last minute she insisted it was her work; that's the kind of person she is and unfortunately, people like that exists. Its personally my favorite episode bc unlike a lot of the other people Nano serves karma to, Mew actually has a way to extract herself from the situation anytime she likes by just admitting to lying but we know based on her decisions in the episode, she'd rather break her own arms than do that.

None of these people act like how society expects normal people to act because Nanno picked them out beforehand. She saw the hidden potential in them to be malicious and tested them to see if they can resist that dark side.

Also, what normal person has a crush on someone and immediately goes to rape once the crush likes someone else? That's messed up. Karma wholly deserved.

I wasn't shading Lee Minho himself, I quite like the guy. I wasn't even talking to you might i add. I was replying to another person who said that those not watching this are somehow automatically into cliche romcoms.

While I don't want to assume, usually this means the person thinks they are somehow better than romcom fans with their shallow fascination with oppas. I'm sick and tired of these slice of life and action genre fans acting all superior and "not like other girls" just bc they don't watch mainstream shows, especially when Pachinko is one of the most overhyped shows recently so they're not as unique and tasteful as they think they are.

I bought up the Lee Minho part bc ironically most people watching this ARE romcoms fans who only wanted to see Lee Minho in a new drama and the only reason why it got added and we're able to have this discussion in the first place is bc of those so-called shallow fans spamming the feeds. Even more funny when you think about how the admins bent the rules just to add this to MDL, showing its popularity but then you get comments like "why is this not popular uwu uwu."

Sorry about that. Blind is a bit over the top. I was just feeling frustrated by how much potential it had, not to mention a great cast, only to end up such a mess bc of the plot. Even more frustrating is people deflecting all its problems onto the endgame. I think it's fair for people to rate it low if they were not a fan of the main couple bc it's the writers' job to make us believe in their love and for most, it failed in that regard.

Like what you like though. I was being super judgemental and snarky yesterday. Still think 7.9 is a bit high considering there are better dramas with lower ratings but I get its popular bc of Lee Jungsok; again, nothing wrong with that nor does it make you blind.

It's just funny to be that just bc someone is not bothering to check this drama out automatically means they are into cliche dramas and oppas. Maybe some just don't like it? Or maybe it's boring for some? It's probably one of the most hyped dramas recently but good on you for having such a unique and obscure taste.

And what gave him any exposure in the first place? If he didn't get famous from playing the same rich chaebol in every cliche drama, the production team wouldn't even have thought of him. He's also the reason this drama was even added on to MDL so I would argue he is a major part of the drama regardless if he appears a lot or not.

A talented actress. Hope to see more main roles from her.

It's a perfectly fine cast. All of them are really talented. They'll obviously adjust the story to fit their age. Can't believe how superficial some people are just bc they're not another group of perfectly sculpted Kens and Barbies seen in many mainstream kdramas.

He should do more melos or roles as a morally grey ML. Really enjoyed his shady character Mir in I Picked Up A Star On the Road.

I'm all for having preferences and respecting other's opinions but the fact this has a 7.9 and the fans are STILL insisting it deserves a higher rating and the only reason why some people rated it low is bc their endgame didn't happen. 🤦

Regardless of whom ended up with whom, it was a mess. I remember watching it when it was airing on cable but decided to rewatch it after seeing the high rating. Trust me, the writing was so bad that by episode 12, I could care about any one of them and this had my boy Park Haejin in it. So it isn't about rating it low bc my endgame didn't happen like some people are saying. It is genuinely a hot mess of a story that never decided what it wanted to be. An action-thriller? A serious medical drama? A melodrama? A romcom? I rooted for Kang Sora's heiress and Park Haejin's shady genius to be together anyway so I'm pretty unbiased when it comes to the "who is the female lead?" debacle. I could care less about that.

Logic and reason do not apply to Doctor Stranger which works in some romcoms but again, this was trying so hard to be a serious action/medical drama that the inconsistencies eventually tore away at anything good it had going on. It honestly deserves a lower rating but some people enjoyed the eye candy, I guess.

Typical kdramas full of cliche with oppa saving FL from big bad white truck of doom is how Lee Minho is even able to star in this drama but okay...
