I know the rating is low but could it be worth watching? It's low because it's all bad or only because of the…
It probably got its low rating bc most people dislike makjangs and rate them low just bc of that. I personally remember really enjoying it but the leads don't end up together according to other watchers (I already forgot about the ending lol). The journey is the most important part though and I think Seowoo was really good in this and it's probably Yoo Seung Ho's best role to date.

I mean, its also weird how Gojin acted all hurt when finding out she's Baek Edu's ceo. She doesn't owe him anything…
That's how business works though. Like they said in the drama, companies regularly poach instructors from other companies. I don't like the dad either but he wasn't saying anything wrong. You need to eliminate your rivals; its a cutthroat industry.

"the person who broke your heart and partly stole big chunk of your youth ."
She had her reasons and we still don't know exactly what happened. I don't get this eagerness to villainize a female character with no context as if she kidnapped him and forced him to love her. He was a willing party in the relationship and a grown man at that.

Embracing tropes and subverting them are different though. I personally didn't feel anything comedic or satiric about the scene and I'm like one of the early fans of this drama who defended it buy saying it was satire.

This is def. a female centric drama!! Hope they choose lesser hyped actors for the ML! My picks: Lee Ki Kyung,…
Ugh Uhm Ki Joon would be so perfect. Especially since it's gonna be a parody of makjangs. He fits really well with Gong Hyo Jin too.

She was wearing more tight, revealing clothes in the department shopping scene so I didn't get that part. While I understand feeling confused and reluctant, the way she was screaming going "what the heck are you doing?" "Why am I getting this?" made me want to take back all the stars I gave this. I'm just more harsh on dramas I like and I expected more out of it lol. It's a pet peeve I developed especially after seeing it in so many chaebol kdramas.

It is pretty close to it though. Obviously no two dramas are gonna be exactly the same. I also thought Sunghoon did really well.

I still recommend I Picked Up A Star on the Road though. I mean...Crazy Love has a lot of problematic elements if you think about it but people have accepted it for the crazy fun ride it is. You'll enjoy I Piked Up A Star if you also suspend disbelief and just enjoy it. honestly think I Picked Up A Star does suspense, mystery, and dark humor a lot better than this. CL is more romantic and comedic.

Its really funny you say that bc people complain about thow there was no romance lol. I thought there was but most didn't think so. Its just a suspenseful and funny drama. idk if the romance tag should even be there. I don't think it's any more problematic than what Gojin is doing in this drama, which a lot of people are excusing bc it's in line with his character. The same could be said for the FL in I Picked Up A Star.

The drama itself is totally ominous though? In fact I think ominous fits it even better than depressing or bleak. Again, like I said, here's a murderer on the loose trying to kill our ML while our FL thought she was gonna die soon just two eps ago. Not to mention Sina is literally the only character who is not trying to actively kill or sabotage Gojin (even she started out trying to hurt him).

No, I didn't dislike it bc of him spending money on her. I hated how she was so timid and was acting like she was kidnapped during that scene. Like you're at a beauty salon after you got invited to a fancy gala, what do you think is gonna happen? It's especially bizarre if you consider the fact that she had no problem buying brand names and such in ep 5.

I know its bc of you know what but isn't the change in personality too drastic? It just reminded me of so many timid female leads don't know what makeup or luxury dresses are scenes in dramas like Boys Over Flowers and I expected something different from this drama.

I think it's on purpose? Maybe following the dark humor vibe they're going for? It is a pretty bleak and depressing drama if you peel back the comedic scenes. There's a murderer on the loose trying to kill our ML while our FL thought she was gonna die soon just two eps ago. Not to mention Sina is literally the only character who is not trying to actively kill or sabotage Gojin (even she started out trying to hurt him). It's even more depressing if you consider that Segi is the only person he calls family; I mean the way he lighted up at him remembering his birthday was cute but sad.

The theme, or the lesson I guess, they're trying to teach is also really somber: learning to apologize to people and forgive others bc you might never get the chance to. (Or at least that's what I think they're going for; second chances and such with having Gojin apologize to the ex-secretary, letting Gojin and the ex meet after their bad breakup).

Basically, we're following a lonely boy who grew up to be paranoid, depressed and hated by everyone trying to turn things around (with a little help from an angel named Sina). He's essentially our very own Scrooge and we're gonna be visiting the ghosts of his past. Thus, I think the bleak filter (?) is pretty fitting.

I just really hated the makeover scene. Everything else I still find fun (or maybe I've just been brainwashed by the comments section lol). Glad to see you stuck with it though. It's an interesting drama for sure.

No, I mean most famous kdramas are just nonsensical stuff. I mean in what world is an alien falling in love with a random human on earth? All works of fiction have ridiculous premises and elements.

I get being disappointed after expecting something and getting something else but like...nowhere in the summary…
The last 5-6 eps were very standard romcom imo.

"The FL keeps the ML hostage in her home, of course that's a set up for romance."
Um...its not really supposed to be a romantic situation, no where in the description does it say that. I think you misinterpreted the premise they were going for. I do agree they should've replaced the romance tag with mystery since that was a bigger part of it.

"The foundation of this drama is perfectly set up for romance."
And that's exactly what ended up happening? It's funny that you're complaining about there being no romance bc most people rated this drama really low bc they found the hostage falling in love with their captor situation really problematic.
