Review Double Helix
Your review spared me the indignity of expending precious time and energy on an artistically bankrupt and homophobic narrative. I will redirect my attention toward more rewarding pursuits, thank you

yes I agree with you 100%. art should never be censored under any circumstances. But I wasn’t saying that some…
"Art" might be free to run unbridled in its lewdness and immorality; yet we are no less free to condemn it, and to assert that such an "art" ought never to have been

Does anyone know the MDL page for the New version of the series?
It offends my senses that they are reviving so vile and unworthy a narrative

Omegaverse is a vulgar figment of the imagination, best scraped off and left to rot in obscurity

With each new omegaverse narrative set loose, the world is plunged into ever deeper wretchedness. Enough is enough

The so-called "pregnant man" is but a woman in man's clothing

I reject with equal rigor the impossible beast (e.g., dragon, vampire, werewolf) and the impossible birth. Consistency achieved

"BMA also has a trans character, played by a transwoman"

Once more, we are assailed by the rapacious proselytizing of gender identity ideology; a wearisome and authoritarian rite

they cause they’re nonbinary
Nature plants the seed of gay desire in all; it is the thorns of self-denial and the suffocating tyranny of procreative dogma that stunt its sprouting or ascent to consciousness

BamBam retains her status as a woman

"Woman" or "man" denotes a category defined by sexed physiology, species-specific taxonomy, and developmental maturity. It is not contingent upon performative or psychological acts of self-identification

I think this is a pretty cynical assumption.A female character appearing doesn’t automatically mean the drama…
My default disposition leans heavily toward skepticism and a rather gloomy outlook on most things. Even so, I'm willing to entertain the possibility that the upcoming two episodes might challenge my current assumptions

On The Legend of Kitchen Soldier May 21, 2026
Up until episode four and the introduction of a mysterious female character, I was engrossed in the narrative trajectory of this drama and its intimate exploration of culinary rituals. I now question who the female character is (a friend? an ex? a future temptation?) and whether the narrative will cannibalize its earlier, more contemplative dimensions of sensory joy, comedic relief, and imaginative escapism in favor of appeasing the culturally entrenched compulsion to fetishize man-woman dynamics

Would those of you familiar with the source material be so gracious/kind as to elucidate the degree of the so-called "romance" present? How pervasive is it? Should it assert itself above all else, I'll have no choice but to discontinue watching

We can engage with this homophobic content without feigning ignorance of its structural biases/imbalanced narrative…
"... other dramas that are trauma porn and/or literally feature r*pe as part of the romance arc being praised ..."

I share your disdain for homophobic narratives that relegate gay characters to tragic fates, deny them fulfilling, joyful resolutions, or exploit trauma (e.g., sexual assault) to generate conflict

I also take issue with homophobic narratives that frame gayness as something that needs balancing with "straightness" to be palatable

We can engage with this homophobic content without feigning ignorance of its structural biases/imbalanced narrative distribution/uneven storytelling

The central gay relationship spent the bulk of its runtime vying for visibility and relevance against the privileged "straight" script that overshadowed it in both duration and execution

"Straightness" centered the stage by force. It had no rightful place here
