True, in folklore fox demon are usually portrayed as bad. In SJ case, she demonized quickly because she now has intent to kill, of harming others for her revenge. She devoured all her dead clan mates power/grieves to become stronger for revenge. She absorbed all the bad energy. Pretty much the same as what TTJ is doing, just on a larger scale and that she didn’t kill them.

I agree that Xiao Lin was someone he admired.

In typical xanxia, there is usually a distinction between good/bad. They can starts as good or bad depending on how they cultivate and can become vice versa depending on their changes. Fox Demons doesn’t always seduces and eat human heart even though they have that abilities. For example in TTMOPB and Pillow Book, Bai Qian and Fengjiu are considered fox demons even though they never seduced/eat human hearts. Just because they were born with those innate abilities doesn’t mean they have to use it that way.

Uhm. They were never friends to begin with. TTJ never considered Xiao Lin as friend. He felt betrayed by YXW rather than Xiao Lin because she told Xiao Lin that she wants to kill him

Really, all I’m trying to say is there are good and bad demons just like how they’re bad/good gods as portrayed in xanxia . How you determined or perspective whether they are bad/good is another topic for another days. 🤣🤣

Did the drama ever emphasize that he were just devouring demons that are bad? They never made that distinction, case in point his first attempt of devouring Pian Rain.

The guy ruined Xiao Lin and YBC wedding just so he can take revenge on some of the guests. What have Xiao Lin and YBC done at this points to deserve this? According to him they were always nice to him. He could have taken revenge on own his time. He keeps devouring demons. He ain’t the villain in episode one yet but he ain’t so innocent either. Y’all saying LSS doesn’t deserve his love as she didn’t sacrifice for him but what has TTJ sacrificed during the time when YXW was alive for her to sacrifice the world for him? When YXW told him to stop devouring demons, did he stopped? Nope. Pian Ran would have been devoured if YXW didn’t stop TTJ, before he thought of making use of her in the second attempt. Things he has done so far before YXW was dead are things that are aligned with his goals and he could reap benefits from.

Yes definitely as it isn’t worth mentioning due to the time constraints. But I highly doubts they will dwell on it. They probably want to use this crush as justification for some cute TTJ’s jealous scene and for Mo Nv screen time/redemption arch as it add to the difficulty of pursuing GYJW. So he won’t cause to much problems unlike other SML.

But GYJW in the novel did have hidden one-sided feelings for LSS. He just never pursued it and wasn’t so open about it like the drama. That’s what I felt from the author subtle hints just that their relationship never developed more than brother/sister.

I heard that the script was leaked/sold awhile back like way way before TTEOTM aired. So maybe since they have timed to process, they don’t really care anymore plus it is based on a novel so spoiler were everywhere.

I just felt like when she say “we” she didn’t meant the actual crew/director and her have decided on a BE ending. It it more in the senses of we (her and TTJ) decided a BE is more fitting due to the tone of the drama after talking with the crew as the crew were thinking of the ending. As in wanting it to be a BE. That is how I understand it when I saw the translation on YouTube not the tweet one.

If there is hope there is alway a way. I would understand for other drama to have sad ending like IS and TSL because there was actually lovey-dovey scene during the drama but for TEOTM, it hasn’t so they still owe us an actual true love scene.

Actually I’m pretty optimistic regarding how this will end in HE. Based on how the story is told so far. But we probably gets like <5 mins of them being together or so.
