Yes she likes him and see him as family. It has been shown that she is willing to take further step with him in intimacy and is quite dependent on him for emotional support but she is not necessarily “in love” with him yet or aware that she is. She has too many things in her mind now.

Yes any son of the current emperor as legitimate claim the throne. Meaning any of Mo Jing Li’s father brothers has legitimate right to the throne. Do we know whether ex-crown prince has brothers? I’m sure the ex-emperor has other son who has legitimate right to claim the throne just as MJL. The point I’m trying to make is that not only MJL has legitimate right to claim the throne, there are others.

If his father became the emperor then the throne could have been rightfully his however since his father never become one once the next in line died, anyone in the Mo family line as equal rights to throne especially his father brothers. Basically any one who is the son of the emperor has legitimate claim to the throne. So Mo Jing Li was never the next in line for the throne to began with.

It was never his to begin with. His father was the one who was next in line for the throne. Mo Jing Li was never the crown prince, as his father could have nominated one of his brothers for the throne if he were still alive. Once the crown prince died, anyone in the Mo family line has equal right to become the emperor as the other including MXY.
