You can also find the instagram clip and come to your own conclusion but since you haven't, you should know that she was just asked "I heard Hayoung comes from a generation of doctors" to which she could easily have answer "yes I do" because she wasn't asked for more information. She herself replied with "my great-grandfather studied medicine in Japan and opened the first western clinic in Hanyang". To which the other people replied with "oh wow, so he also treated Emperor GoJong". The western clinic referred was opened sometime in 1907 and was a private clinic. If this isn't a flex then I don't know what is, she didn't need to say any of that, she could have just been humble about it and said very little details because its those very details that people traced down her lineage from. What's even worse is that his education was sponsored by the Korean Government. But people aren't upset about the great-grandfather because they already knew that history. No, they are upset that she said all of that on a broadcast ignorantly as a celebrity.
Just watch from afar, if you don't understand that's totally fine, do more research if you care so much about her. But having done barely any research while trying to defend her just makes it that you tank her reputation more.
